    What would you think if a State or Commonwealth was to pass a law that said political party references could not be on the ballot? Therefore, you would not know if a canidate was a Republician, Democrat, ect.

    Everyone one running for a particular office would be listed either alphabetical, by lottery, or some other equal method?

    Congressional elections are controlled by congress which is why there are no congressional term limits. I think that rule would also apply to this suggestion.

    I think that's a great idea. I also think we should go to a non-partisan primary for Congressional elections like Louisiana used to use for Congress and similar to the unitary primary my county uses for county offices.

    You would have to ban it not only on the ballot, but in political ads as well to keep everyone in the dark. Besides, this is limiting free speech, don't you think?

    I wouldn't bother me if a candidate indicated what party he was with. My big problem is that people just vote a straight party ticket without knowing anything about the individual.

    In fact when I was in WV, we use a "punch the hole" type of ballot. In fact it was set up, so if you wanted to vote a straight ticket, you would only punch one hole on the front page - and you were done - without even looking at the names or even the offices being sought!

    I don't want to ban it in political ads, just on the ballot.
