We need more selfless people like that. While other teachers were running in terror and letting the students fend for themselves, he didn't think about his own safety and tackled the scumbag. He did have help by another man though.

    From the url"

    >Benke confronted the 32-year-old gunman, tackled him and pinned him to the ground with the help of another teacher, stopping what could have been a much more violent encounter in a city all too familiar with tragic school shootings. The shooting occurred in the same city where the Columbine High School massacre happened nearly 11 years ago.

    >"Unfortunately he got another round off before I could grab him," Benke said. "He figured out that he wasn't going to be able to get another round chambered before I got to him so he dropped the gun and then we were kind of struggling around trying to get him subdued."

Insufficient information to determine if he was a hero or a fool. In what direction was the rifle pointing when Benke confronted him? From which direction did he approach?

Would you ask these stupid questions if your child was in the room?
Or would you be shaking his hand thanking him afterwards?

OK Codbrain, let me ask you this about this scenario:

I'm your neighbor, you know I own guns and I am an expert shot.
We both come out from a late movie with our wives into the parking lot and someone grabs your wife, telling you, "Give me your money, or I'll cut your wife's throat."

Do you want me to save your wife?
Or are you more concerned where my legal gun is pointing?

    Your call cod-brain.

(I bet you run. Then blame the police for not protecting your wife.)
    Cod-Brain.

NOTE: Some people here probably wonder where 'Cod-Brain' comes from. It comes from my warning months ago not to use other words, and it was suggested to use this instead. So I do.)

    I am a Christian.
I believe Jesus came and died for us.
I don't believe in alot of the (cod-brain) stuff I read here.

I've been gone for awhile and have not posted.
It is known as, 'having a life'.
(Been buying property, fishing, hunting, seeing friends, seeing family, etc.)
But I still wish ya'll the best. If I get banned, my friends here still will know how to get in touch with me.
But otherwise, I will never allow a post from some cod-brained holier-than-thou cod-brain to go un-answered as long as I get to post here.
    Like what I do matters....right?
    See ya'll later....maybe?

The difference is that the robber only wants your money and then leave, but in the case at the school, the shooting had already begun.

Yes, the teacher was a hero!
