I have just recently started to do some reading on this subject. Not near ready to form any opinions on the belief system yet. I saw there were some older threads about this topic, but nothing recent nor containing thoughts from those who I see posting regularly on here. So what say you?

Refers to Luis Molina's theology of God possessing "middle knowledge." The idea that God knows all the variables that man could freely choose, but ultimately works those free choices to His divine end.

It was concocted by a Jesuit who was commissioned to do something about the insurgent reformation. It tries to rectify divine election with libertarian free will. What it ultimately boils down to is God providing the "best possible world" with all contingent possibility.

Molinism teaches that God chose the path of contingent options that saves "the maximum number possible." It also teaches that there are some who would never believe the Gospel under any contingent path. The sickening thing to me about Molinism is that it totally destroys the personal intimacy between God and His people in bringing them to Himself. God's optimal path is all about the number of people to the detriment of any kind of personal purpose and involvement in calling the elect.

sounds like a God who is not soverign, working His plans on the whims of man. Doesn't sound like the bible God.

I thought this might add to the the discussion:

Does God choose who will believe?
