Democrats to Stupak on why they want to pay for abortions

    What are Democratic leaders saying? “If you pass the Stupak amendment, more children will be born, and therefore it will cost us millions more. That’s one of the arguments I’ve been hearing,” Stupak says. “Money is their hang-up. Is this how we now value life in America? If money is the issue — come on, we can find room in the budget. This is life we’re talking about.”

    If 'another party can fix this' is true, then the opposite is also true 'if we fix this, another party can break this.' This bill and this much control in the hands of a few is very bad news if it passes..... regardless of ammendments.


    It is not that I am against health care reform.... but I am very much against Obama care.... and any health care reform which removes competition in health care from the control of people and their money and their choices and places it all in the hands of government.

    I think you have it backwards. The amendment in question prohibits publically funded abortions. The democrats are against this amendment.

    Wouldn't you be in favor of an amendment that helps to prohibit abortions?

    No. I am opposed to elective abortion and believe it should be outlawed.
