Stupid comment @ Wal-mart becomes "hate crime."

oh my!

Well, it is all about me. My feelings were hurt. I am outraged. Who can I sue.

 

What is the underlying crime here?

Unauthorized use of a telephone intercom?

 

I have learned that there are some people who want to be offended. Walmart is not responsible for what happened. Reasonable people understand that and move on.

 

This took place in Williamstown (or Turnersville, depending on which paper you read...doesn't matter, it's the same place) and I used to live in Pitman, which is the next town over.

I don't know how many people realize this, but New Jersey has always had a terrible problem with hate groups and white supremecists.

I grew up in Alabama in the 60s and 70s, where you would think I'd have been exposed to racism, but nothing prepared me for what I saw when I moved to Jersey. I heard the infamous "N" word more times in a couple of days here than I ever did in rural Alabama (and yet, we Southerners are still saddled with the bad reputation).

But, in any event, this was just a stupid prank, not a hate crime. I've gotten on the PA many times and pretended to be a manager when I had to wait for someone to open the dressing rooms.

 

Intercom systems are racist. If something cannot be said face to face, that infringes on my rights! Boycott all stores who use intercom systems...they are trying to hold you down!


Whoever holds Walmart accountable for this is part of the ID - 10 - T crowd.

 

What if....

"Attention Wal-Mart customers: All crackers leave the store now."

The announcement would've never left the store. No ACLU, no news reports, no hype. Maybe a chuckle or two from the shoppers but certainly no outrage.

Leftists love to hate Wal-Mart, even though it wasn't an employee that made the announcement.

Any excuse will do.

Especially minorities whose skin color is lighter than some Italians. They announce their minority status for the purpose of getting a special deal.

 

I read now that the teen has been arrested. I cannot imagine for the life of me what supposed crime he committed.

If he goes to trial, I would love to be on that jury. I know there is no way I would vote to convict someone of a crime over something so trivial.

 

Just a point of note (and not of any real worth to the discussion)...

5 years ago when I worked for the Wal-Mart Home office ... their take home, after all bills were paid, etc.. was 9+ billion dollars - for the year They then take that and open new stores, build new DC's (distribution centers), etc.. or whatever else they have planned out for the next year. To be honest, I was rather impressed :saint: But at the same time, I would never again work for the Wal-Mart home office again.. maybe one of their stores or DC's but never the Home office. It is WAY to cut-throat and backstabbing and those are you friends think about what you have to deal with when someone is offended by you or your work- ouch.

 

This is absolutely rediculous. I agree, if the situation was reversed nothing would have come of it. Walmart doesn't deserve this kind of treatment. I go to this store and it has alot of black employees. This chain probably hires more minorities than any other store. It's ashame we have idiots in this world who can't keep their hands off of someone else's property. Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows that Walmart wasn't at fault.

 

Oh my, my I got my feelings hurt. All of this borders on absurdity. Prosecuting a kids prank as a crime. More and more it appears the brains of Americans are turning to mush. :BangHead:
