Barney Frank gets his comeuppance

    Sorry...but I started reading it, and there's just too many jokes begging to be made from that story, that I have no business making...or laughing at...but I'd probably laugh...real quiet-like...until I was out of earshot...anyhow...I'm going now...*snicker*...

    I wouldn't exactly call this "comeuppance".

    "The women had been drinking, and they were crying and shouting," Sexton said. "They were clearly the antagonizers, and Mr. Frank was kind of minding his own business." (She said Ready also upset another passenger, calling him "Santa Claus.") Finally, the parties calmed down and remained quiet for the rest of the flight. (Sexton was offered some complementary wine for her trouble.)

    Said Frank: "It reminds me of the joke about the woman who's in a restaurant and Clark Gable's there. She complains to the waiter, 'Clark Gable is annoying me.' The waiter says, 'He's not even talking to you,' and she says, 'Yes, and I find that very annoying.'"

    I'm sorry that you didn't know the meaning of the word. Or you either, Rev Mitchell.

    Really? Are you really sorry or is that just a phrase thrown out to feign concern over something you exaggerated. I do not care for Frank but after reading the story I fail to see how he was punished or faced retribution. Two drunk women made fools of themselves. They had no credibility and only worked to make those who oppose his world view look foolish.


    But here is some advice. Have some real view points rather than simply working to get in the face of everyone on the board. Hold on to your emotions and do not let yourself get offended just because someone disagrees with you.

    I never implied that it had anything to do with God's children. I just stated that what was written in the article are words that are heard everyday by the gutter mouths in the world. I am not condoning it, but if you think that there is a way that you can avoid hearing or reading a dirty word in the dirty world we live in, other than living life in a bubble, you are being very naive.

    I live in no bubble and I have no naivety about the world. You were just shouting so loudly at GBC Pastor and I felt the scriptures that came to mind needed posting.

    No question there are certain vulgar things said verbally and in print that end up being unavoidable to hear or read. But this was not such a case. A simple mention that the article you were promoting contained foul language would have sufficed. Then I could very much have avoided reading the link you posted by knowing it contained language I do not care to read. You see simply because at times being exposed to vulgarities is unavoidable does not mean we should not try to avoid them when possible.:godisgood:
