I'm not sure why this is newsworthy to you.

Usually when someone says, "folks, you just can't make this stuff up", they are mocking something or laughing about something and it's ridiculousness.

    The man was a homosexual.
The man was a little person.
The man was hit by a taxi and killed because he struggles to walk fast enough across streets.

Why is this ridiculous? Why does the description of the man detract from the fact that he is now dead - killed tragically?

One could substitute ANY descriptor and those descriptors couldn't take away from the death.

One could say "racist preacher killed by taxi". Or one could say "tall guy with a mole on his nose killed by taxi".

The description of the person killed is irrelevant. What IS relevant is that someone is tragically dead.

I don't understand how death can be funny.

I agree. I do not find this funny, Cutter. Even though you did not place a laughing emoticon after your crude statement in the OP, everybody knows you so well that they know what your evil dark heart was thinking. Shame on you for stating the facts of the death in the title of the thread and shame on you for posting, you can't make these things up. The speech police have spoken and the speech police have ruled you were out of line, and I concur. Therefore, as a member of the BB I am charging you with 3 points for hate speech, 3 points for insulting language, and 3 points for attempting humor (although that is based on assumption rather than fact) in a tragic death. Tsk, tsk.

Your statement "Sorry guys, but you can't make this stuff up." comes across as this is humorous. That statement, whatever the intent behind it, was inappropriate to the tragedy in the article.

I agree, RevMitch. "Comes across" is the same as fact. Language that "comes across" will not be tolerated since it causes people, such as us, to connect the dots and see what the true intent of the poster was. Please help me and others on here enforce any posts that "come across" as being inflammatory.
Thank you and do you you think he should receive 3 more points for the "comes across" infraction? I will be happy to give them to him, yes I will. Just let me know. Thanks again.

Obviously, the taxi was a Tea Party member.

Brother, don't be so hard on yourself.

I've suggested to you before that it's really easy to say, "You know, that didn't come out like I intended. Sorry."

I just had to do that yesterday on another forum. I said something that came out with a different meaning that I intended and it bothered someone that I would "say something like that".

I profusely apologized. My heart didn't err, but my fingers and words did.

I don't think that Cutter is capable of apologizing.

Apparently, "thinking before typing" is an issue as well.

It is a sad story. Being a sodomite activist we have no reason to doubt that he is forever separated from God.

I tend to agree with rbell. Just as everyone else has adopted their self righteous judgment posture, I think that rbell should be given some space on this, as well. Although, on second thought, we could ask Cutter to explain himself. In fact, the first responders to the OP could have said, "Cutter, why did you post this and why did you say what you did about can't make this stuff up." I have to admit though, jumping to conclusions and making assumptions is so much easier and much more fun, too. :applause: Carry on!
