Has anyone on here read/reviewed the God's Word Translation (GW)? If so, what are your thoughts on this version. I briefly read through Romans and I didn't really find anything to raise my eyebrows about.

It has its redeeming features. Although its translation philosophy claims it uses neither the literal nor the funtional approach -- it uses the latter. It's more dynamic than the NLTse.

It reads smoothly as any extra-dynamic version would. I bring my edition to church sometimes -- but the TNIV is more accurate even though its English needs an update.

The International Standard Version borrowed liberally from GWT without acknowledgment. I have a thread on that elsewhere.

Here in South Korea I have given away copies of the NIrV primarily. A couple of times I have distributed the NLTse. But these days GWT is my preference. Of course, as their English improves they should graduate to a translation of a higher reading level. They still have their Korean Bibles from which to refer.

This is its rendering of Psalm 100.

Shout happily to the Lord, all the earth.
    Serve the Lord cheerfully.
Come into his presence with a joyful song.
Realize that the Lord alone is God.
He made us and we are his.
We are his people and the sheep in his care.
Enter his gates with a song of thanksgiving.
Come into his courtyards with a song of praise.
Give thanks to him;praise his name.
    The Lord is good.
    His mercy endures forever.
His faithfulness endures throughout every generation.
