Palin Says 'We're All Arizonans Now'

==I'm a North Carolinian, not an Arizonian. While the law in Arizona does not seem like a big deal to me, and while I think too many people are over reacting, and while I believe states have the right to make such laws, the law does not affect me at all. I live in an area of N.C. that is full of Mexican immigrants. Are they legal? I have no clue. There needs to be a national policy that is (a) realistic and (b) can/will actually be enforced. Until then, the problem will only grow.

 

I love what Arizona did. And the federal govt. should stay out of their business.

 

I'm not an Arizonan and I suspect that there would be an uproar if every US citizen and legal immigrant was forced to show papers to every suspicious official if this were enforced across the board.

BUT, I do recognise Arizona's right to pass this legislation for their state. And those who don't like it don't have to go there for sporting events or business conventions or whatever else.

 

Legal immigrants are already required to show their immigration card. That has been in effect for many many years.

 

Agreed - and if private individuals and organisation choose to stay out of Arizona's business world they have that right as well.

 

Not correctly what she said:

"It's time for Americans across this great country to stand up and say, 'We're all Arizonans now,"' Palin said

 

That could be a double edged sword.

If some group - whether they are a City or State, private company, or special interest group - calls for a boycott of Arizona, a boycott could in turn be called on them.

With a reported 70% support of the Arizona law it's not hard to guess which side would be the loser of a boycott war.

 

C4K, NNE will EVER have to show ANY papers to ANY suspicious official. Geez, why won't you people educate yourselves on what the law says. It's no wonder this nation is headed downhill, if for no other reason than blatant ignorance and an unwillingness to educate onesself on the issues. It's almost laughable.
