How do you feel about TV investigative reporters? I mean, they can do a lot of good in exposing criminal activity and corruption, but their tactics are sometimes cruel. When they get the goods on someone they parade them before the public and stick a microphone in their face demanding answers and trying to shame them in their worst moments. I can't help but to feel sorry for some of these people from time to time. Then the reporter finishes up the story with his smile and self righteous indignation as the carnage of another life has been laid bare. Sometimes in their aggressiveness they tend to forget that people are innocent until proven guilty.

I think they can do some good, but sometimes they sensationalize and capitalize on emotional outbursts of the general public. Such is the case when they go after education. Sometimes the inquisition can ruin a person's career even when they're found to be innocent.

I guess I just feel like they should make sure they are reporting an objective truth and keep it under wraps until that is proven.

Like most everything else, there are trash investigative reporters and there are great investigative reporters. but i think most of them, the world can do without.

I love 'em. John Stossel and the guys from ReasonTV.com are terrific.

We have a guy here locally named Dave Schratweiser (no way I spelled that correctly) who's been known to literally chase city officials down on foot once got his hand broken when an aide of Fast Eddie Rendell slamed a door on it.

They also have Jeff Cole, who was assaulted by city councilman, Wilson Goode Jr's, girlfriend and then, after the assault, she claimed she was the one attacked and tried to claim that he was a Klan member.
