    I'd say there are a number of people who incite discontentment and rebellion. Some of the far right talk show hosts for instance.

    Now whether what they say fits the legal definition of sedition I do not know.

    Law.dictionary.com says:

    I remember when someone made a full length feature movie that released in the movie theaters that enacted an assaination of then President Bush.

    Do you think that rose to the level of sedition?

    Gov. Patrick is a little off here. I haven't seen any Tea Party people advocating the violent overthrow of the United States government.

    Perhaps a better question would be, is the sedition act a violation of the first amendment. The act was passed in 1798

    If it is not then I think many quotes that could be posted from either side of the political spectrum could well be called seditious.
