    From the link:

Requesting a lighting display involves filling out an application evaluated by the Empire State Building Co., which is privately owned and considers selection "a privilege, not an entitlement," according to the website with the application form. A decision is made "at the sole discretion of the (company's) ownership and management."

The Empire State building had no problem honoring the 60th anniversary of Communist China. Why would they refuse to honor Mother Theresa, one of the greatest women of the 20th century?

The Catholics are the ones that are the bigots. They ought to consider that before they call others by the same name.
Read the post before yours by Salty, where the owners of the Empire State Building clearly state that they are"privately owned and considers selection "a privilege, not an entitlement," according to the website with the application form. A decision is made "at the sole discretion of the (company's) ownership and management."[/quote]
The RCC considers it their right, as they do many things.
It shows the arrogance of the RCC.
I don't see J.W.'s, Mormons, and other religions demanding their rights.
Why should the Catholics demand theirs.
As is stated: it is a privilege and not an entitlement.
The RCC has no say in the matter. "What is the matter with the RCC." is a better question.

Oh dear, oh dear....but other religions DO demand their "rights".....has there not been an application for a mosque within cooee of the Twin Towers Memorial site, the Christian distress over the proposed changes to a significant American document concerning "in God we trust" to call to mind a couple...:flower: I suppose the group in question could call it prejudice instead.

Personally, I agree that the owners have the legitimate "right" to decide how best use their building providing it does not infringe local laws.

I forget. Without Catholics to scapegoat, DHK would have nothing to complain about.

Mother Theresa is honored throughout the world as a great humanitarian by Christians and non-Christians. She took Jesus's words seriously when He said:

    "Love one another."

She saw Jesus in the faces of the poor people of Calcutta, and devoted her life to serving them no matter what religion they espoused. That is true love - completely giving, unselfishly living, and inspiring those around her to a completely sacraficial lifestyle of service.

Mat 25:34 Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
Mat 25:35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,
Mat 25:36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.'
Mat 25:37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?
Mat 25:38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?
Mat 25:39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?'
Mat 25:40 And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'

I don't know - I read the article twice and didn't see anything about anyone claiming that they had a right to anything.

    What am I missing?

What Catholic is claiming what right here?

The owners of the building are Jewish; Malkins and Helmsleys. This boils down to a Jewish vs Catholic conflict and the Catholics are putting it into the limelight for all to see, IMO of course.

Egad! Shame on me. That link was horrible, my apologies; I googled (what I already knew) and posted this link without checking it out first. Trust me, there are many factual and well written articles on this topic without the hate and vitriol that this link has. My apologies once more. I will be more careful.

It is doubtful "Mother Theresa" was even a Christian; a humanitarian yes, a Christian, no.
No Christian would ever espouse the philosophy of: If you are a Muslim then be a good Muslim; "if you are a Hindu then be a good Hindu; if you are a Christian then be a good Christian."
Though not an exact quote, that is the essence of what she taught. And that is not what Christianity teaches.

Have you ever heard of: "Abdul Sitar Edhi"?

He also was just as much as a humanitarian as Mother Theresa was.

His point is that he must have someone to hate so that he can avoid facing his own conscience and thus ameliorate his own suffering.

    Peace!

    I can testify with Paul:

Acts 24:16 And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.

    I can testify with Isaiah:

Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Shouldn't you be able to provide a cogent response -- or something?

How many thousands of lepers have you washed with your own hands? How many thousands of starving have you fed? How many thousands of sick and forlorn who were left to die in the streets of Calcutta have you picked up and nursed back to health? What did Christ say? What you do to the least of me you do unto me. Who is the real Christian here - you DHK, or Mother Teresa? I think we all know the answer to that.

    Really DHK - such vainglory!

    Peace!

But sadly, not when He said, "Go ye therefore into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature".
