Hey, why not let Muslims in on the space program?

Just make sure to check their shoes and underwear before you let them aboard.

America is not a Christian nation because no nation can be Christian. A Christian is a sinner who has repented of their sin and placed their trust in Christ for salvation. No nation can do that. A Christian is an individual, not a nation. All nations/empires that have claimed to be Christian have claimed something they cannot be.

That said, President Obama needs to realize that historically America has been a Christian friendly culture/nation. While that might be changing, there are still large areas of this country where that is true. If he wants to be re-elected, and I must imagine he does, he needs to stop snubbing those areas with this type of silliness. While I understand that NASA, like all organizations, must have an outreach program, it is beyond silly to say that it's number one outreach target is Muslims. NASA needs to go back to its roots and reach out to the children of America. NASA needs to re-inspire a new generation of young people to dream big and reach for the stars (literally). Maybe we do need to return to the Moon? Maybe we should shoot for Mars? Who knows? We need another President Kennedy to challenge America to do great things. NASA needs to stop pushing the Obama Administration's politically correct silliness.

    My question is:
    We're paying for WHAT?

I just did a search 'muslim contribution engineering' on start page.com. The first link directed me to a site on muslim heitage 1000 years contribution... clicked on link.... and came up with a blank page????? (Probably due to some internet error/ protocol, or other problem in opening in the page.) Nevertheless.... I can't help but wonder amusedly.... if that's a 'omen'.

"In God We Trust" - i wonder what god that might be 'cos it sure ain't the God of Scripture. America's hypocrisy reaches the nostrils of God and it's a putrid stench to Him!

40+ mill babies aborted since Roe vs. Wade??! His precious creatures being tortured and killed without a voice to protest!

Yup, real Christian country you got there!

Oh, i'm a Canadian and we aren't any better as a nation. As a matter of fact, i believe we are further ahead in being more an abomination unto God then the States (for the moment) - we kowtow to Sodomites and God forbid anyone 'offend' the very militant Sodomite population - so small, yet so vocal and powerful. Makes me ashamed of calling myself a Canadian!

Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

    Ray

Over heard on radio: The new mission of NASA is contained in what the accronym now stands for......

    Nurturing Arab Self Awareness

[Caveat: Not all 'arabs' are muslims.... some are Christian and some of other religions. Not all muslims are 'Arabs'. A big example... Iranians are muslim but not 'arabs'..... they are considered "Persians' still to this day by those of Arabian descent.... and are enemies of each other, except in their religion. ...Both are enemies of Isarel and many Arabs (of Saudia Arabia) would be as pleased if both Israel and Iran disappeared off the earth.... the hatred is so bitter from the past.]

NASA... off topic.... US... A Christian Nation?

    The Treaty of Tripoli:
Signed and sealed at Tripoli of Barbary the 3d day of Junad in the year of the Hegira 1211— corresponding with the 4th day of November, 1796, by....
    ....
Signed and sealed at Algiers, the 4th day of Argill, 1211—corresponding with the 3d day of
    January, 1797, by......
    ( ^ For the dates.)
Interesting fact: The 'Treaty' of Tripoli was broken.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Barbary_War
Poster's Note: Catholic and 'Christian' meant the same to these barbarians. As far as they were concerned the Cursades sponsored by Catholic Church was 'Christian' and infidels to them. They would NEVER have negotiated any treaty with 'Christian' infidels. Since it was the 'government' negotiating.... the country, as a people, was never alluded to as to whether it was or wasn't 'Christian'.

    http://www.afn.org/~govern/Christian_Nation.html
The Treaty of Tripoli was not a treaty for peace at all..... It was a treaty promising tribute for safe passage..... at a time when our debts from the Revoluntionary War were unpaid.... and upwards of 20% demanded of our budget annually.

Interesting response to the President's 'this is not a Christian nation" speech is made here by Brigitte Gabriel, Founder and President of Act! for America

Does a Christian nation allow for the slaughter of 40+ million innocent children?

Related to muslim contributions is a long list of books available on this subject HERE After cruising throught the titles, one may not have enough information to judge the contents.... but it is evident that correctly muslims have impacted their world with such contributions as herbal medicine, surgery, architecture and art, cusine, carpet making, etc.

Here's an article which challenges the muslim contribution vs the price of destruction of knowledge and contributions GO HERE

It is reasonable to expect a person to be proud of his heritage. But a bias which is somewhat exclusionary in the official capacity as President of the US is suspect as to whether that person is more muslim than he is American, imo.

Interesting. Obviously and shamefully.... not all in leadership who call themselves 'Christian' act like it if one takes the Bible and measures the values of their business conduct, their loose stewardship of the people's money, the programs they promote, the way they used scripture to pursuade the sheeple while their actions betray their authenticity, their marital and sordid affairs, their preference to promote those likewise corrupted or corruptible, their restraint on Christian religious expression, the courts which have been dominated by those of Masonic type allegiances, schools which teach questionable theories of origin as though they were fact to displace the beliefs of many and promote obstruction of those who would present an alternative discussion or questions which the so-called 'scientific model' creates or leaves unanswered. Government has impacted the lives of the home, the school, the economy, the laws, and even our freedoms and protection and no longer consistenly recognizes the constitution as the law of the land....... and people go to church and the steward ship they learn is related to socialism, and their relationships and conduct to relativism of 'love and acceptance..... I'm okay and you're okay" instead of the sinfulness of human nature.....etc., etc., and abortion is becoming as acceptible among Christians as divorce and remarriage became in the 60's......... If we were a Christian nation...... we are fast moving away from that model of government which was designed upon the necessity of a moral and religious people.

I dare say, from other comments heard on this BB, we still have probably a more favorable comparison of devout Christians, as a percentage compared to the European nations of those who go to church, read their Bible, support home schooling or send their children to private schools, who've invested in a House of Worship, who give to missions, who volunteer for relief programs both here and abroad, and are often willing to serve to help those in disaster areas like Haiti, Mexico, South America, and missions in other hemispheers..... serving because of Christ in their lives even when muzzled by beauracy from witnessing ........ because they are Christians. Of course I can be wrong.....

Even from the start this so gennant Christian nation permitted the enslavement of people based solely on the colour of a man's skin.

Why would one expect a nation comprised of a Christian majority to act consistent with Christian values when many individual Christians are incapable of the same?
