Someone should tell them what the GW believers always tell us doubters when we point out the many instances of BELOW average weather that happen all the time: WEATHER HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GLOBAL WARMING!

Except when it's ABOVE average weather, all of a sudden it has EVERYTHING to do with it. The sad thing is that you GW believers are so caught up in your devotion to this concept that you apparently can't even see the glaring contradictions in your own thoughts and words.

Last winter in AL was one of the coldest in decades.

    Must be global cooling.

Come on, crabby...you're supposed to be "enlightened," and you believe Al "The Massage Patient" Gore?

We are having the hottest summer ever here. Not like Moscow with temperatures over 100 so often. We did have a new record set with 107.

If you remember last winters discussion you would also remember that scientists say that with global warming will come extremes in both temperatures and storms.

Regardless, the people of Russia are suffering. Remember almost no one has AC there ... they have not needed it in the past.

And, how does that prove that it is caused by global warming? Several years ago when we had an exceptional number of hurricanes hit the U.S. the global warming nuts were preaching their lies. So I ask, where have all the devastating hurricanes gone to that were supposed to increase in numbers and intensity? Only the gullible blame global warming for standard ups and downs in weather.

Global Warming isn't about true climate change but breaking the world economy (especially that of the U.S.) through the hoax of global warming. If the global warming nuts have their way the entire economy of the U.S. will be severely affected.

And those "scientists" can't prove that. That's all conjecture on their part.

Those "scientists" probably also believe in evolution, which shows exactly how scientific they are.

Ah, yes...if it's warmer, global warming.
    If it's cooler...global warming.

    How convenient for you.

    Not scientifically valid, but convenient.

I believe you are not far from Washington DC. As a child in the late 40's I saw Aruthur Godfrey was frying eggs on the side walk in DC around 14th and I, I believe.
I'm Florida bred and we never had an air conditioner till the mid to late 70's. Heat gives me more trouble today than back then, I'm sure being older is part of it, but I'm sure having the A/C is also part of it. And I'm going to keep the A/C.

Tempatures, rain, and storms have always fluctuated between extremes. A simple review of history is enough to prove this point. Massive floods, devestating droughts, horrible heatwaves, and dangerous cold, snow, and ice. This is the record of weather in history. The only difference is that 3,000 years ago many people attributed violent/extreme weather patterns to various dieties and today we attribute violent/extreme weather patterns to "global warming".

Btw, as we speak, South America is in the midst of a very cold winter. They had a dangerously hot '09 summer and now we are having a dangerously hot '10 summer. Do I see a pattern here?

Things change. The earth, and it's climate, is not static. It never has been and it never will be.

The weather in North Carolina was below normal last summer ('09) and this past winter ('10). This summer ('10) has been very, very hot. A major North Carolina meterologist replied to an email I sent him in the following way,

"Winter 2010 ended up as the 6th coldest on record at the Raleigh-Durham airport with a mean temperature about 3.2 degrees below normal. We certainly have gotten the summer off to a hot start, with June setting a record as the warmest on average at the Raleigh-Durham airport since observations began in 1944. In addition, based on recent trends the Climate Prediction Center anticipates above-normal temperatures to close out the summer. Historically, for winters at RDU that were more than one degree below normal, we've had 5 summers that ended up one degree or more above normal, 8 summers that were one degree or more below normal, and 15 in which summer averaged within +/- one degree of normal. "
