[All of this is directly related to the unfulfilled prophetic scriptures of the Lord's Word scheduled for the coming time of the end of this present age]

The stage is now being set up for the coming 70th week decreed for Israel .... the coming little horn of Daniel's visions will rise out of the region of the confluence of Syria, Turkey, Iraq, and Iran .... the ancient land of Magog and his brothers .... many of the Middle East will join the confederation of satan's [gog's] beast in the little horn, a human king of the northern Middle East [Daniel 7:7-25; 8:9-12; 8:23-25; 11:36-45; 12:7; Revelation 9:11; 11:7; 13:1-4; 17:8]

    Psalms [adjacent nations]
83:1 Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.

83:2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

83:3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.

83:4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

83:5 For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:

    83:6 The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;

    83:7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;

83:8 Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.

83:9 Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:

83:10 Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.

83:11 Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:

83:12 Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.

83:13 O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.

    83:14 As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;

83:15 So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.

83:16 Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.

83:17 Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:

83:18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

    Ezekiel [outer nations]
38:1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

38:2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,

38:3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:

38:4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:

38:5 Persia, Cush, and Put with them; all of them with shield and helmet:

38:6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.

This is typical dispensational newspaper theology, which is actually no theology at all.

The following is a recent significant news item that needs to be observed by the student of Bible prophecy .... the prophetic scriptures tell of a Middle Eastern setting in the very region where a number of coming events on the earth will take place .... this is the region which will produce the little horn of Daniel's visions whom some call the "antichrist":

US ends Iraq war, leaves two civil conflicts on the boil
DEBKAfile Exclusive Analysis August 29, 2010

Roadside bomb in Baghdad two days before US exitThe crossing of the US 4th Stryker Brigade and 2nd Infantry Division from Iraq into Kuwait Thursday morning, Aug. 19, ended America's combat involvement in the seven and-a-half year Iraq war. debkafile's military and Baghdad sources note that, for Washington, the war which cost 4,400 American lives and $1 trillion - is over, as per US President Barack Obama's pledge. But for Iraq, it is just beginning:

At least two civil conflicts are at boiling point - Sunni-Shiite strife and hostilities between the two Muslim factions and the Kurds of the North - and Iran's followers stand ready to seize Iraq's oil-rich South potentially sparking yet another world conflagration.

The political vacuum in Baghdad created by Nouri al-Maliki's refusal to step down or join a unity government is unsustainable and the cause of a rising spiral of violence. Neither of the two leading Iraqi parties which emerged from the general election earlier this year – Maliki's State of Law Party and ex-prime minister Iyad Allawi's Iraqiya Party – is seen capable of commanding a parliamentary majority any time this year.

Dropping out of negotiations for joining Allawi in a coalition government, the transitional prime minister has turned his attention to preparations for a Shiite war against the Sunnis to be launched as soon as the Americans are gone.

He has lined up senior Shiite commanders in the Iraqi Army who are willing to lead an all-out offensive against the Sunnis in Baghdad and central and western Iraq. According to US intelligence, they are preparing to capture large parts of Baghdad as well as Habaniya, Ramadi, Tikrit, Falluja and sections of Anbar Province, in order to achieve two objectives.

One is to defeat Sunni forces, forcing them to accept their loss of political influence and bow to his conditions, or else face more casualties, the loss of more territory in the cities and more debacles.

The second is to crush the power bases the Saudis are building in Iraq at great expense.

While the Saudis and the Syrians are spending money to buy off Maliki's supporters, he plans to physically destroy the Sunni power centers in which they are investing.

His plans could ignite a Shiite-Sunni war lasting from one to two years up to late 2012 or early 2013. At least one to one-and-a-half million Iraqi Sunnis will be put to flight and flood neighboring Jordan which has neither the resources not the utilities to support that many refugees.

A second Iraqi community, the Kurds of the north, is in the midst of war preparations out of a bitter sense of betrayal by Washington.

They are furious over America quitting the country without solving the critical issue of Kirkuk and its oilfields. Calculating that the Shiites and Sunnis will be caught up in their own war and have no soldiers to spare for stopping them, the Kurds have lined up this strategic northern city for capture as soon as September.

They also plan to exploit the anticipated armed Sunni-Shiite feud to drive south and grab parts of central Iraq up to a line some 250 kilometers north of Baghdad.

Holding such towns as Saghir, Chay Khanah, Qarah Tappah, Muhsin Aziz and As-Sadiyah would be the key to Kurdish control of the eastern provinces bordering on Iran. This would give them the strategic depth for defending Kirkuk and its oil fields and bring them to the edges of the northern belt of cities hinging on Baquba and Balad which protect Baghdad from invasion from the north.

Their Peshmerga is a highly-trained and skilled military force which the Kurds believe neither the Shiites nor the Sunnis can overcome.

Tehran is also eyeing rich spoils in Iraq's post-American era. The networks in Iraq run by the Iranian Intelligence Ministry, the MOIS, and the Revolutionary Guards Al Qods Brigades have joined forces with their Iraqi allies to take over the southern oilfields centering on the city of Basra, which account for about 60 percent of the country's oil output.

This would be Iran's payback for the energy sanctions President Barack Obama imposed in July.

Iran also covets the two holiest cities of the world Shiite movement, Karbala and Najaf.
The ayatollahs in Tehran are planning a double coup in Iraq - possession of Iraq's oil riches plus command of its two most treasured religious sites.

Mitchell to hand Assad Netanyahu's proposed Golan withdrawal map
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report September 16, 2010

Netanyahu's Golan withdrawal mapFollowing the two-day Israeli-Palestinian face-to-face supervised by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, US Middle East envoy George Mitchell prepared for a major US diplomatic breakthrough during his visit to Damascus Thursday: The possible revival of Syrian-Israeli peace talks. He carries with him for Syrian president Bashar Assad a detailed map drawn up by Binyamin Netanyahu to represent Israel's proposed withdrawal from much of the Golan.

The Israeli prime minister refused to go into borders between Israel and the future Palestinian state at the talks he held with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas at Sharm el-Sheikh Tuesday, Sept 14. First he wanted to dispose of other issues such as security.

His tactics for Syria are quite different. Three months ago, Netanyahu showed President Barack Obama detailed maps of the Golan showing how far he was willing to pull Israel forces back, provided Assad followed in the footsteps of the late Egyptian president Anwar Sadat who visited Jerusalem in November 1977 and was rewarded with a full peace accord with Israel and the recovery of the entire Sinai Peninsula and its demilitarization.

A second Israeli condition for negotiating a peace-plus-withdrawal pact is the severance of the Assad regime's strategic and military ties with Iran and termination of its backing for Hizballah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and a host of Palestinian terrorist organizations enjoying Syrian sanctuary and hospitality.

Funny, Ky, I was just going to use the same term: Newspaper Theology.

One of the tragedies of this misinterpretation of Scripture is that it takes away from Christian application - Messiah - and the central events of His work.

    Israel - Alone and Strong

It doesn't matter how small or weak Israel may seem, compared to other nations. The power of all other nations combined is only like a drop in the bucket compared to the power of the God of Israel.

In his address to the Israeli nation on the recent occasion of the country's 62nd Independence Day anniversary, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu declared, "Israel can only truly rely on itself."

... It doesn't matter how small or weak Israel may seem, compared to other nations. The power of all other nations combined is only like a drop in the bucket compared to the power of the God of Israel.

The biblical prophets also revealed that one day a large coalition of armies will gather on Israel's land with plans to attack and destroy Jerusalem and the rest of the nation. But God will meet them on the plain of Megiddo and wipe out their armies.

Keep your eyes open. All this may happen sooner than you think.

I am pre-mill and pre-trib and also think this is newspaper theology. I am tired of those who also believe that Jesus could come again at any time looking for the beast in the mideast instead of looking for Jesus.

The coming of Christ may be and, for me, is a doctrine to be believed, but it is more about me waiting for the Savior whom having not see, I've loved. And until He comes, the One whom I serve.

We take the doctrine of salvation and instead of rejoicing in redemption, forgiveness and assurance, we debate how it happens. We take the kingdom of God and instead of anticipating a righteous rule, we try to parse verbs.

    Growing tired-er all the time.

    Here endeth the rant

This will not occur for at least 1007 years. Ezekiel 38 is speaking of Gog and Magog coming against Israel after the 1000 year Millennium. This is when Israel will live in peace in unwalled villages.

Rev 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

There is no way you can say Israel is living in peace in unwalled villages at this time.

I confidence, in place, and protected by the Lord [until He allows for Israel's enemies to overcome the nation at the middle of the 70th week decreed]

Israel would not be around today if the Lord was not keeping the nation for His purposes .... the nation's presence would have been eliminated by the overwhelming odds against it

I would suggest a good concordance with your study of Ezekiel's vision on this matter

And the ensuing battle of Armageddon described is not the event described in Revelation 20 if one compares the visions

The Lord's response to the second human rebellion instigated upon satan's release after the 1000 years is totally different ..... no bird food, and no cleansing of the land necessary

..... but there will be in the aftermath of Armageddon

Ezekiel's view is of Armageddon [first the invasion of Israel at the middle of the 70th week and then the resulting battle of Armageddon at the end of the 70th week].... the encounter at the end of the Lord's millennial kingdom is totally different .... not the same

Satan [gog] will instigate both ..... "gog" and magog" has symbolic meaning in Revelation 20 when describing the human rebellion at the end of the Lord's millennial kingdom with a reach back to satan's [gog's] earlier leading of the rebelling nations [magog]

People have forgotten who Revelation was about. It's not about the beast, the dragon, Gog and Magog, etc. It is about the Son of God. The focus is on Him. Unfortunately, the focus of much end times preaching today is not on Him. Sad.

Russia to supply missiles to Syria, despite Israel protest
    Jerusalem Post - 17/09/2010

Russian defense minister says Moscow still intends to proceed with arms deal, that includes sale of P-800 missiles, amid objection from US, Israel.

Russia still intends to go through with an arms deal with Syria including the sale of advance anti-ship rockets, despite recent attempts by Israeli and US officials to thwart the planned deal, Russian Defense Minster Anatoly Serdyukov said on Friday according to state news agency RIA Novosti.

The deal includes the sale of advanced P-800 Yakhont supersonic cruise missiles to the Syrian military.

Israel considers this weaponry capable of posing a significant threat to its navy vessels in the Mediterranean Sea.

The Russian defense minister indicated that Russia would go ahead with the contract that was formulated in 2007, saying that "the matter of missile sales to Syria was raised during the talks with US Defense Secretary Robert Gates and undoubtedly, the Russian side of the contract would be fulfilled."

Sergei Prikhodko, a senior adviser to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, told RIA Novosti that Moscow would fulfill all agreements it had made with foreign countries and would not halt the deal.

Israel has expressed concern over the deal to supply Syria with advanced supersonic P-800 Yakhont cruise missiles, which would pose a major threat to Israel Navy ships if transferred to Hizbullah. During the 2006 Second Lebanon War, Hizbullah hit the Israel Navy missile corvette ‘Hanit’ with an Iranian-supplied surface-to-sea missile, killing four sailors.

    Truth Files,

I do not mean to be offensive here, but you have managed to make prophecy boring. I have been interested in prophecy all my life, but your posts are waaaaaaay too long. It is overkill.

And this from a guy known for writing long boring posts himself. :tongue3:

Make a single point, and discuss that. We don't need to read every news article in the world in a single post.

If the Lord's Word is boring to you this is very strange indeed

Are you a believer in Jesus Christ ..... or something else? What is your faith?

    Revelation
3:13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

    Colossians
3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

I find that those who comment as you have are not really connected .... the word of the Lord is never boring to the one who follows Jesus Christ .... never

    2Peter
1:16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

1:17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

1:18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Most who are interested in the prophetic visions of His Word want to search them for understanding

What are you interested in and how do you like to be entertained?

Do you find the content of my posts on this forum boring .... or are you just coming to discredit and reject out right

    What's your MO?

I am suspicious of your comment

Why don't you make a single post comparing the prophetic scriptures with today's current conditions and discuss it?

I will look for it ..... are you willing to do this?

    Revelation
1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

1:2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

It's good to see the more established futurists on the board have enough respect for the board to discipline one of their own.

We preterists and our loyal adversaries the futurists can disagree as brothers in Christ most of the time and occasionally slip a little bit into caustic personal statements, but we generally maintain a respect for each other and the board.

If the futurists among us can educate TF to respect the board enough to use it for posts and not epistle writing and not "copy and paste practice" that would be hugely appreciated by everyone.

On the other hand, he does futurism more damage than good by his copy and pasting so maybe I should be encouraging him.

TF fall in the Armageddon trap again

Hmm, looks like TF should spend a little less time copying and pasting and challenging other people’s Christianity and a little more time actually reading the bible.

There is no battle of Armageddon ever mentioned in the bible. Armageddon is a staging ground for armies.

    Revelation 16:16
And they assembled them at the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon
    .

The Roman army did stage for battle there before their campaign through Judea.

Everyone posting in this section is a professing Christian belonging to a Baptist church. It is inappropriate to question the salvation of others simply because they disagree with your self-serving, long-winded waste of cyber-space.

In addition to revealing how weak your arguments are, it is against the posting rules of this board to question the salvation of other members. If you continue to do so, you will be reported and hopefully banned.

    peace to you:praying:

Please do not cut and paste entire articles from other websites. Provide a snippet or summary and the link to the original.

Eschatology is second only to Calvinism/Arminianism in the ratio of heat to light that discussions generate; please do not question other people's salvation because they disagree with your eschatology. Likewise, being offended is no excuse for rude behavior in return.

Those who see errors on other posters' part should certainly argue their case, but do so in a Christian manner.

Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. I Peter 3:9, ESV.
