2011 NIV is coming soon. What's wrong with NIV? What's wrong with NTIV? What's wrong with NrIV? What's wrong with ......???? They are closer to their time. :type: is still going on for next new version after 2011 NIV in the future. :sleeping_2:

NTIV? Never heard of it. The NIV, like the KJV, is undergoing revisions. Nothing new under the sun here.

It is being improved. The KJV itself was updated;and I'm not referencing the NKV.

There is no such version. Do you mean the TNIV? It's better than the NIV,but still in need of revision.

There is no such version. Do you mean the NIrV? As far as I know it isn't being revised. It will still be sold as is. I think it's a translation that you would appreciate if you took the time to read it.

I would second that! I'd like to see a revision, though- in some places it is far too wordy for my tastes. Why use 10 words when 5 will do? Also some of the word choices are better understood in the NIV than the NIrV. But that's just me. I'm almost done reading through it.

The NIrV is too wordy?! Well, the sentences are very short. I'll have to do a check of the actual number of total words in a bunch of passages.

Can you give some examples of word choices that are better understood in the NIV rendering? I can understand when the word "justification" is not used and a lot of other words are used to explain that one word.

The NIrV does retain a number of sentences that are in the NIV -- if those sentences are short enough.

That's a worthy topic. Let's start a new one towards that end.
