    The question I have is an old one but I want to rehash it and get some fresh responses if no one minds...I would like to open the discussion of how we are to approach the subject of Christ's second coming and the debate that surrounds it...I have a preterist friend that is very interested in Dispensational Premillennialism but just can't get past Matthew 24:36... I would like to get a more comprehensive understanding of it myself...I would appreciate any and all links, as well as any new discussion .....Thanks to all...

    Or you can search/scan the BB because there have been several preterist/futurist debates.

    At the very top of this BB web page (The yellow bar under the green Banner Bar (BaptistBoard.com)) is a "search" drop down indicator.
    Click it.

    Then at the bottom of the drop down box is an "advanced search" line. Click it.

    The resultant search box is intuitive.
    Fill it in with the parameters of your choice.

    Look for "preterist" or "futurist" or "millenium", etc...

    No one knows, not even the Father./ Seems rather a waste of time to speculate. There are more important daily life topics to discuss IMHO.

    There is nothing more importand then the things of God. How they are determind in importance is decided by the Spirit and the need of the person at the time, not men. :smilewinkgrin:

    Where did you get that the Father does not know when the verse says that He does?

    Matthew 24:36

    36"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.

    But don't forget this jewel.

    Acts 1:6-7

    6So when they had come together, they were asking Him, saying, "Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?"

    7He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority;
