SAO PAULO — A Brazilian court ruled this week that McDonald's must pay a former franchise manager $17,500 because he gained 65 pounds (30 kilograms) while working there for a dozen years.

The 32-year-old man said he felt forced to sample the food each day to ensure quality standards remained high, because McDonald's hired "mystery clients" to randomly visit restaurants and report on the food, service and cleanliness.

This is just a sample of how crazy people have become and it is not limited to other countries. This is like saying that Rosie O'Donnell should sue the companies that make spoons because she is fat. People, it is not the spoons fault nor is it MacDonald's fault if a person does not control their appetite. :BangHead:

Perhaps McDonalds should counter sue for theft.

So, McDonalds is to blame for his overeating and lack of exercise to keep his weight down? Maybe I can sue somebody because I got diabetes from excessive sugar eating.

This Brazilian could pass for a liberal American judge.

When asked, "Will this decision hold up on appeal?" One attorney replied,

    "Fat chance."
