He was talking about the fact that Jesus Christ is the one and only mediator between God and man.

    He then said...

I have listened to Chuck Swindoll on and off on the radio many times, have read a few of his books, and I find that hard to believe. I wonder if you couldn't have misunderstood him as to what exactly he said?

Just the fact that you said he also said just previous to that
    it makes little sense.

I haven't listened to the broadcast myself but my guess is that he was addressing the fact that there's one God, one Mediator and that other beliefs would have you believe differently than this. SOOOO many say that as long as we are sincere in our beliefs, we're right - but that can't be since all of the different beliefs contradict each other so only one can be right. :)

I understood what was implied, and I know that there are those that promote this view. However my point is, it doesn't sound like anything I have ever heard or read Charles Swindoll allude to before. That is why I raised the question.

No, Charles Swindoll is not promoting this view - he's saying the idea that as long as you are sincere is all that matters is hogwash.

OOOH now I get it, I thought Alive In Christ was saying hogwash to Swindoll. I guess the large quote box was too complicated for me to figure out. Must have stayed up too late watching election results. Thanks Anne

    Steven...

No, I was just quoting exactly what he said. He made a joke out of the *supposed* GREAT theological word for the false view of "all roads lead to God" as being... ((hogwash))

He got a BIG laugh from his congragation when he said that.
