A raghead thug confesses to killing over two hundred people, but even though he isn't a citizen...we try him in civilian court, and he may be let go after 20 years?!

Eric Holder should be fired today.

If this thug, or another like him that Holder lets off, harms an American citizen, Holder should be brought up on treason charges, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The above is my take. Ed Morissey has more to say... SOURCE

Is the US a country that abides by its laws or a country that ignores its laws and runs on the emotions of the moment?

America is indeed a nation that runs on rule of law, unless, of course it is expedient for an administration to reinterpret those laws for some gain, including, but not limited to stacking the Supreme Court with justices that see things one way or another in order to pass that perceived gain forward into the populace. We have much that would cause our Founders to return to war over since they signed our original documents if they could but stand in our era. But, alas, they cannot return to us, and we cannot seem to figure out how to elect candidates that interpret the Founding documents in context...

And, seeing as how we ARE a nation that operates under rule of law, one would think that we would treat foreign war criminals according to the standards of that law, i.e., try them under a military tribunal on foreign soil, as has been the case since the advent of our nation.

Bringing these prisoners of war into our nation and giving them the rights that are held for citizens of this great nation has been one of the greatest travesties of our law in our history! And more so, that the results of the trial are so pitiful, when in fact we simply could have lined up these enemy combatants and called the firing squad to "ready, aim, fire."

Yes, and for that reason, we don't give non-citizen enemy combatants engaged in acts of war the same rights we give US citizens who engage in crimes.

Perhaps a basic civics refresher course would be helpful.

Then you are against Obama's and Holder's ignoring the mandate by Congress to try these war-criminals with a military tribunal? They ignored the law and ran with their emotions and are now being proven wrong time and time again. You're jumping to conclusions, CTB. Conclusions that I'm sure you wish you could take back now. I know I enjoy it when we use racial epithets to advance the conversation around here. :(

I'm thinking you are being an overly sensitive liberal on this one. I don't see any racial epithets. Of course, I'm just an evil conservative, so what would I know?

Regardless of where he was tried, if he confessed to these killings, why did a jury of American citizens find him innocent, I'm puzzled?

Would that be admissible in a military commission?

Because most of the information, including his confession, was not allowed to be presented.
