Patriots all. They are for the good of the country, not just for themselves.

Patriots ? A minority trying to change it for everyone ?

Hardly. Thank God for smart millionaires.

In 2007, there were 16,600,000 millionaires in America.

This is hardly a blip on the millionaire radar. According to my research. Does your's differ, or is this, as my research shows, an insignificant number of ill-educated whiners who would best be ignored ?

Wouldn't it be a good and more true show of their patriotism if they simply sent in a check for a few million or more?

What is stopping them from putting their money where their mouths are?

Why do they need a law in order to do what they believe is good for the country?

I'd like to know how many of this puny number actually earned this money, and how many inherited it. Seems like the patriotic thing to do is use that money to further invest in the business. Create jobs. Give to the community. Not give it to congress to fund their lavish lifestyle while the people struggle to find work.

Class envy in just that. Envy. Seems like the bible is against that.

How many deadly sins are you willing to commit to create your socialist utopia ?

Thank you CTB. The rich should be willing to step up now and pay more; it won't hurt their standard of living at all.

Standard of living - is that the basis of taxation now?

Should everyone have the same standard of living with the government taking all that one has over some arbritary standard and giving whatever is lacking to others in order to meet that standard?

No, it won't. But it will affect the pople we have to lay off. How many unemployed un-skilled workers are you willing to create with your envy-based economics ?

So, Crabby, the government makes better use of our money than charity?

You think it's smarter to give to the government rather than charity?

So, Robert...do you feel the goverment should re-distribute until everyone all has the same amount?

You guys are doing us a favor by posting what you do. Illustrates the lunacy of your position.

I notice the guy who turned his one talent into ten didn't get called greedy. In fact, it was the guy who sat on his money who was called "evil" .

And also, I don't see the guy with ten talents begging to be taxed.

I think only millionares should pull jury duty. In Syracuse, I would have only gotten a max of $40 a day (before tax) and I would have to pay for parking. But the first 3 days, your employer is requried to pay you regualar wages. (see link)

    The rich can afford it!!!

This comes out to .000003 % of millionaires that whine. For you math guys, that means you take the number of millionaires and multiply it by .00000003, you have 49.

This is 3 millionths. Hardly a significant number. You can probably find that many idiots in any metric you use.

The men in the OP are liars. They will benefit somehow from the expiration of the tax cuts. Under communism, most were made paupers, but select party members became uber rich.

What's keeping them from just donating their excessive income to the gov'mint?

    Only 40?

All they have to do is write some 7 or 8 figure checks to the U.S. Treasury if they feel under-taxed.

I promise you they will accept the money and cash the checks.

Why do they feel others should be forced to be as "generous" as they are?

Actually they are not being "generous" at all.

If they were generous they would go ahead a write a check as you suggest.

    But they are not.

They want the government to take money from everyone else as an expression of their "generousity".
