After the hissy fit he did while throwing his shoulder pads and jersey in the stand. In the OT home loss to the Redskins. As he clashed also with coach Jeff Fisher. Think his Titans days are coming to an end. :BangHead:

Bud Adams said today that Vince and Jeff Fisher need to find a way to work together. An hour and a half later, Fisher stated that the Titans put Vince on IR and he's done for the season. If Bud Adams forces Fisher to keep Vince as his QB, I think the Titans are going to be looking for a new head coach.

Bud Adams has way too much pride to admit he's ever made a mistake. Heimerdinger's offense isn't suited to Vince without a feature WR. Vince hasn't clicked with Moss, and Vince has had his share of issues since he arrived in the Midstate. Add it all up - it hasn't worked. Adams would be an idiot to get rid of Fisher. But since Adams is an idiot......

Well, Vince has apologized to Coach Jeff Fisher.

He texted his apology. He used the same phone he could have called on.

    Fisher was not pleased.

"I'm not a real big text guy. I'm not really into this new-age stuff," Fisher said. "I don't Twitter or tweet. But I think face-to-face is a man thing, OK?"
Asked if a text was better than no apology at all, Fisher said: "Someone could have grabbed his phone." (From ESPN)

Fisher is old school. That "apology" never happened in his book.
Young's timing could not be worse with Heimerdinger's diagnosis with cancer. Young acts like a petulant child and now the story is one of sympathy for the coaching staff. If Young doesn't apologize publicly and verbally, I have a feeling the Titans' fans are not going to forgive or forget. Now, what Bud Adams is thinking is anyone's guess...probably even his own :)

NO one player (or coach) is bigger than the TEAM. Adams had best remember that. He could replace Young easier than he could Fisher. Many top coaches wouldn't wanna work for Adams. And Young hasn't exactly been lighting up the scoreboard lately...

Adams won't remember any of that. His ego is too large. He thinks coaches would flock to him - the coaches he can control, that is.

Bud Adams must be somewhere around 80, right? He was one of the original AFL owners, whose team won the first 2 championships with a revitalized George Blanda at quarterback, beginning the second, and more successful phase of Blanda's career. Maybe from that time on, he has thought he really knows QB's. He always did seem to like getting 'local' [Houston; south&east Texas] talent onto his team, as seen in Jerry Levias, Ken Houston, Earl Campbell, et al. Perhaps he never gave up thinking that's a real gold mine. But New Orleans and Houston (Texans) passed on Young and drafted Reggie Bush and Mario Williams, respectively; however, none of the 3 have really done what was expected of them. But Young's rookie success may have solidified his confirmation about his own evaluations and he's just stubborn about it now.

Actually his Houston Oilers were on the verge of winning their 3rd AFL championship in 1962, when the Dallas Texans beat them in overtime, then in spite of the championship, moved to Kansas City, as Dallas was good for only one pro team, and it was the lackluster NFL Cowboys, instead of the AFL champs, who ran the other off. Another irony here is that Tom Landry was recruited by Bud Adams to be his first head coach. In Landry's autobiography, he says that the reason he decided against Adams' offer was because his experience in the old AAFC (All American Football Conference) had proved unstable (it folded after 1949, his first season there), and that he had decided to "get out of coaching and into something that would provide more security for my family." He also turned away from the NY Giants' promise that he would become their new head coach as soon as the current one expectedly retired. Then the Cowboys' offer came, with the promise of hands-off ownership by Clint Murchison and GM Tex Schramm's promise to let the head coach have full authority to run the team on the field.

Evidently, most super-rich team owners-- namely Bud Adams and Jerry Jones-- don't learn alot from history, especially if they think they won those championships early in their autocracies.

Young's sucesses have been at least equalized if not outweighed by his off the field stat-sheet antics. The disappearance a couple of seasons ago. The Police issue. Now, his latest tantrum. The Titans have kept other decent QBs around for a reason (keeping Collins, and made deals in the process for some like Chris Simms, feelers for Quinn, etc.) - they know Young may not be the long-term answer in Nashville. This may be confirming what they know. It's one thing to have a glass jaw. It's another to have a glass ego.

Either VY or Jeff Fisher will be gone in 2011. As Bud Adams, realizes that he can't keep them both. Vince wins games sure. Fisher is a smart and seems to be a coach you want to keep around. But now, he has been there longer than all of the 31 coaches combined. When they were with the Oilers. So a decision will be made, as it wouldn't be surprising if there was one made after 2011 is all said and done.

A few years ago Houston heard that Nashville had lost it's idiot. So they (Houston) sent them (Nashville) one. We have some extras to share here (Houston)

If Adams wants to cut his own throat and fire Fisher, I'd love for the Bengals to end up with him

Someone floated an interesting idea to me today. Apparently, Urban and Brown are friends. So......

    Nah, won't happen.
