This was sent to me, and if you've never been to the Sistine Chapel, this will really bless you. Enjoy, and pass it on to your friends and loved ones. I'm sorry that I have to send you to another forum that I'm on, but, it is the only way I can get you the direct site of the Sistine Chapel. Once there, click on the "Sistine Chapel"

    Shalom,

    Pastor Paul :type:

Sorry, I expect I've missed something here, but at the moment, I cannot see how a view of the Sistine Chapel (even a panoramic one :) ) will bless me, or why baptists would want to pass the view on to their friends and loved ones.

I can appreciate the artwork, its certainly very beautiful. No doubt about that. It must be stunning to see some of those very old buildings in person.

But considering the apostate false "church" that all of that is affiliated with, that tempers my appreciation considerably.

Righteous dude, my wife and I just watched this Sistine Chapel and enjoyed it very much! Thanks, that was incredible, we have never seen anything like it, and my wife shared with me how Michelangelo had gone blind painting the ceiling. She says possibly from the paint getting in his eyes? I had not been aware of this. We saved it in favorites so we can check it out again later.

Also, we left the panoramic view of this, and thus, not being paranoid about its Catholic aura as others :saint: remarkably still remained Baptistic, born-again, theologically correct, Bible Believers!!!

    Thanks again.

That's All I Meant to Convey: ART at its BEST!

Thanks for the reply. I was blessed with the depictions of the many stories from our Bible painted on the ceilings and walls. It was truly a labor of love by a man who time would eventually recognize as a genius in art.

I sure don't think that anyone who looks upon this work of art will suddenly be inclined to genuflect or make the sign of the cross!

A few years ago, a well intended family member purchased for me a crucifix. At first I was angry, but, rather than hurt their feelings. I thanked them, and donated it to a Catholic friend.

I then prayed that the Lord would help me to guide them gently to the place of understanding the difference between an empty cross and the crucifix.

BTW, they have since joined and been baptized into an Independent Baptist Church in Arizona.

I often wonder what would have happened had I looked at their gift and tore into them about the insult and anger I felt with their gift?

    Shalom,

    Pastor Paul

    Sorry Brother Lamb!

Some of us have the ability to separate our emotions and feelings from pathetic prejudices and enjoy the raw and natural beauty and handiwork of those who came before us.

I would think that the work and artistry of Michelangelo should never be looked at as Catholicism. It began as art, and remains a work of greatness.

I can guarantee you that just because I viewed this wonderful work of one of the greatest artists of all time, I have not felt the urge to genuflect or make the sign of the cross whenever something startles me.

It is truly your loss based on age old biases. I don't like the Catholic church either, but being able to see the work of Michelangelo, something I'll never have the time or money to see in person, was a neat opportunity, and it hasn't changed me in any way. I'm still saved, and love the Lord with all my heart. And I'd never change my opinion of the Catholic church, nor would I consider becoming an apostate.

I have, however, been to several Catholic churches for funerals of family members and friends, and again; I'm still fundamentally saved and going to heaven.

Shalom, and Peace to You Brother Lamb,

    Pastor Paul

    Well said.

    Thanks again, righteousdude.

We should be like Christ, not afraid of sin and sinners as far as in the context of this whole post...or perhaps if not, we become quite Pharisaical? God forbid. We are the light of what? The WORLD.

    - Blessings

It is without a doubt one of the greatest works of art ever produced. However, I have difficulty connecting some of the scenes with what they are supposed to depict. Thank you, Righteousdude, for bringing it to our attention.
