Maybe because the topic is Tom Delay! Besides, the things Delay did have nothing to do with the things Rangel did.

This is a tendency the right here like to use. If a republican is under discussion, the right-wing hurries to find some democrat to compare and then questions why this was not mentioned. However, if it is a democrat who is being discussed and a republican is mentioned, we are told that this is off-topic.

So Salty, regardless of Rangel, what do you think about the Hammer going to the slammer!

    (SLIGHTLY MODIFIED)

If you wanted to be like Fox news you would have been Fair and Balanced - you would have mentioned both in the OP.

and btw it works both ways -as I indicated in bold in your quote.
And for the record, I am not a Republican.

Salty, are you able to respond to the OP, or is this another attempt to derail anything that makes the REPUBLICANS look bad?

If you cannot respond to the OP; go somewhere else!

Not sure how this makes "Republicans" look bad.

    Delay is only one person.

And it appears that this is really nothing but a political payback by Demoncrats.

Okay, I will make a blanket statement - You break the law - you pay the price - regardless of political party. There that is within the OP

Although I do not consider myself a Republican, I do admire the way the Rep. party made Tom step down. I do not think the Dems have ever had the morals to do that!

When is the last time a Dem step down from Congress for ethical reasons?

Didn't Sen Lott step down from a leadership position and then leave the Senate due to a racist remark?

Oh, thats right Lott was not a Democrat and his remark was not racist.

    Any other ones?

I do not want anyone to misread or misunderstand what I said. I have NEVER considered myself a Democrat and I don't know any faithful christians who are Democrats either.

I have been somewhat called out and it was fair, so I must rephrase my statement to say that I don't understand how any faithful christian could be a card carrying democrat OR republican.

What does "card carrying" mean? Is it a union where you live?

Remember William "Cold Cash" Jefferson, D-New Orleans -
He was convicted on 11 of 16 counts. The DA asked for 33 years - Judge ordered 13 years. So he would be eligible for parole in about 4 years. He was sentenced in 2009, so expect him to be running for President in 2016.
The last paragraph of this news story says quite a bit: "Jefferson stood stoically as the sentence was read, his head cocked slightly to the left, showing no obvious emotion"

In spite of all your deflection, Delay is now a convicted felon!

I didn't know - thanks for informing me of that!!

    Salty

PS Delay is going to appeal (naturally) so what would be your thoughts if a higher court does throw out the conviction?

The verdict will be reversed on appeal.
