My wife got me a new NASB, which I've not had an NASB bible before.

She hid it, and I am not allowed to have it until Christmas day.

    But its a R. L. Allan!!!

I should find where she hid it and nab it?

Peggy, I see you're siding with my wife on this.

How LOUD are you saying "SUBMIT?"

The official rule is...it is totally acceptable to receive gifts during the month of December. Just wait 'til Wednesday (Dec. 1) and remind your wife of this official rule. Tell her if she really really loves you, she'll give it to you then.

I am the author of this rule, so you can trust me that it's true.

My wife and I stopped "officially" buying presents for each other years ago.
A few years ago I ordered my Christmas books and was slightly disappointed when they didn't arrive before Christmas.
On Christmas morning she handed me a present, I could tell by it's weight that it was a book.
And a bit embarrassed because I didn't get anything for her.

Turns out she grabbed my books out of the mailbox before I saw it and wrapped them up.
They were just what I wanted!

You sure are being nosy! You should be stoned..or..bricked! :tonofbricks:

Check the Bibles out over here:

    www.evangelicalbible.com

The Bible I have now is an Oxford KJV Wide Margin, French Morrocan (sheepskin). It lasted 16 years, cost about 140.00, and is now falling apart in places, but this is after several years of preaching 4-5 times per week. They say the Allans are even more durable due to superior binding and the leather used.

The NASB, as you will see is 205.00, with Morroco leather (Highland goatskin, which is the best for covers). That's a lot of money, therefore my wife really does love me :saint:

They are also going to make some other additions to their line; the NKJV and the HCSB for those who may want one of these. Check out the new products page.

Also you can google R. L. Allan for their official website. Also Mark Bertrand at www.bibledesignblog.com reviews these and other Bibles, so you can get an idea about them there.

I'm trying to wait until Christmas!!!!!! :BangHead:

My husband and the other pastors who were ordained with him (there was a class of 5 from our church) all received Allen Bibles when they were ordained. Everyone else got the NIV and hubby got the ESV. It is the most amazing book ever. Obviously the Bible text is standard but the materials and workmanship on this Bible is of the most amazing quality. Seriously, I have a saddle that is worth a lot of money and the feel and smell of this Bible reminds me so much of a good quality saddle. LOVE it. I like to borrow it sometimes just to be able to feel it and enjoy it. :)
