Feds Force Okla. Bank To Remove Crosses, Bible Verse
Federal Examiners Say Religious Decoration Inappropriate

PERKINS, Okla. -- A small-town bank in Oklahoma said the Federal Reserve won’t let it keep religious signs and symbols on display.

    SNIP

Specifically, the feds believed, the symbols violated the discouragement clause of Regulation B of the bank regulations. According to the clause, "...the use of words, symbols, models and other forms of communication ... express, imply or suggest a discriminatory preference or policy of exclusion."

The feds interpret that to mean, for example, a Jew or Muslin or atheist may be offended and believe they may be discriminated against at this bank. It is an appearance of discrimination.

But customers Eyewitness News 5 talked to said they aren’t buying it.

"Thou shalt not steal." Bet they'd let THAT verse stay up.

I bet this bank will be closed on Christmas. Why doesn't the fed step in and make them be open?

The feds would never have taken this politically correct idiotic stand under any other president.

I suspect he ordered them to be on the lookout for a test case..

The title is a little misleading. You say that it was the "feds", which refers to the federal government, but then you say the Federal Reserve, which is a private bank.

If it was the federal government, then the bank should sue the snot out of them. If it was the Federal Reserve, then this is one more reason why the Federal Reserve should be abolished.

The Federal Reserve doesn't have the authority to demand that anybody do anything.

It's actually the Federal Reserve that's doing it.

    Uh huh.

So what right do they have to tell any bank what Christmas decorations they can hang?

We all know the federal Reserve is a defacto government agency.
