The insanity that is happening in so many mainline churches makes no sense to me. The guy is able to ethically pick up a paycheck? What does he do to celebrate any of the ordinances?

It'd be like going to a doctor who doesnt believe in an medical treatments. So stupifying.

What is worse is that he still has a congreation that continues to attend. One has to ask what are they thinking and why do they bother?

Not sure about the Netherlands, but in Germany many folks only keep their name of the church roll, so they can be sprinkled, married and buried in the church. So, I suppose they only attend to make it look good.

I had a pastor once who did not believe in God. He was a Pelagian United Methodist who was married to a Buddhist woman. He saw no problems with that.

He was also the one who told me that God had no answers for me (us) when we lost our 2nd child. His answers caused me to curse God and His church and turn from them. Thank God, that was not the end of the story. God came looking for me and I've since found pastors who do believe in God, myself included!
