I have heard several comments about how much you know about your salvation or don't know I want to consider the following scripture

1st John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
and the number of times in 1st John it says ye know or we know

So my question is how much do you know about your salvation?

I know salvation is by the Lord alone and I know it is a blessing!! Ps 3:8

I learned about wind, pressure gradients, air masses et al at University many years ago, but I know that what Jesus said in John 3 that the wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going, parallels my salvation.

It is the internal, invisible work of holy Spirit

I know enough that God has promised it to me and I KNOW for a fact that I am not unsaved. I have the Spirit in me and I hear His voice. I LOVE my fellow believers and find even strangers who are believers are so much sweeter than friends who are not saved.

A story about that - I know I've told it but it so relates to this verse. We were away on our boat a number of years ago and had met up with some other sailors from our yacht club. We would go and socialize with them but we always came back feeling exhausted. Well, one day a guy came over in his dinghy and said "I see you have kids. I have kids too and they'd love to get together to play! Can your kids come over?" Of course we wouldn't let the kids go over by themselves so hubby went with them (I stayed back because I had my two little ones who were baby and toddler at the time). He came back later and confirmed my suspicion: they were believers who were actually missionaries who had sold their house in Honduras and decided to travel around the world, spreading the Gospel!! They were homeschoolers as we were and he said they were a wonderful couple. I sent him back to invite them over for dinner with the kids. They came over that night and we had the sweetest fellowship as did the kids. We made fast friends and when they left at 2am, we felt so uplifted and refreshed - not at all like we had felt with those who we knew so well but were unsaved. I mentioned this verse to my husband and we just commented on how sweet it is to be with brothers and sisters in Christ. :)

I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I've committed unto him against that day.

    What do I know?

I know that I am saved.

I know that I am not a sinner saved by grace, but a CHRISTian saved by grace.

I know that God revealed His Son to me on May 24th, 2007.

I know that I have passed from death unto life because I love my Brothers and Sister in Christ Jesus. I also love ALL sinners and pray that they will repent and be saved before its everlasting too late!!

I know that when He calls my name, I will hear Him, and respond with JOY!!!

I know that I have a home in heaven when this world has passed away with a great noise!! Praise His sweet name!!

    i am I am's!!

I know that I am saved because I believe in Jesus.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:16-18; KJB)

I know without a doubt because my life was transformed while in the military, Christ having persued me, overcame my obstinance and I passed from death unto life.

The other GI's were saying "what happened to Hank?".

    "He got religion".

That was there perception until I told them it was Jesus Christ that happened to me (although they still said the same).

1 John 5:6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

I know I'm saved. How? Many different ways...
I know He is faithful when I am faithless.
I know that when I sin I grieve His heart. I clearly sense it.
I have a prodding inside to share about Christ and dig into His word.
I was under severe conviction for many years when I decided to try to live for myself. The entire time!
I have complete joy, even through sadness and depression. Try explaining that to an unregenerate psychologist :)
Something inside leaps for joy, a strange sense of excitement when I hear a testimony, hear a friend or loved one who knew Christ went home to be with Him, when I talk about Heaven or the many possibilities of what it will be like or even when I talk about His word with other believers.
I have a STRONG desire to get rid of this nature that is holding me back. I cannot even fathom what life will be like apart from this wickedness! Goosebumps!
Besides all of these things, I know He is true, and regardless of what anyone feels, He has promised me eternal life!

Sometimes I feel that I am all alone in feeling what I know. I felt so alone one time that
I decided I would count in 1st John the number of times it said know. It was 27 times the word know appeared. That gave me comfort.

    These things I know:
    1. I know that pride go before the fall
    2. I know that I once was a prideful man and He showed bm what I was by nature and what I could be by His marvolous grace.
    3. I know that I love God because he first loved me.
    4. I know that I've passed from death unto life because I love the brethern.
    5. I know that I am not the man I used to be.
    6. I know that I was saved by His marvolous grace through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ.
    5. I know I love his heritage.

I can't add anything to what's already been said. But I do know that God loves me. He has never given up on me even though I have turned my back on Him in the past.

I also know that in the past year, God has supplied all of our needs when no one else could have. He has shown His grace and mercy to me beyond anything I could have imagined.

    THANK YOU :jesus:
