He is accusing Talk Radio Network of trying to “strong-arm” him into accepting a “sub-standard agreement” which he compared to “indentured servitude.”
For those of you not familiar with Savage he is a conservative talk show host. Thoug I would consider him an far-right winger. He probally thinks Rush Limbaugh is way to liberal!

If he is truly conservative he would recognize that if he has no employment agreement he is free to take his talents elsewhere.

Instead of suing he should be negotiating from the strength of his value in the market place.

No one can force him to enter into an agreement that he doesn't like.

No one is forcing him to stay in such a group.

He is free to market his talents to the highest bidder.

Ok - I looked into it a little and I made some incorrect assumptions. Here is what I found.

"Savage's contract is with Talk Radio Network, located in San Francisco, CA. He's suing because of a matching clause in the contract, allowing Talk Radio to counter-offer anyone who tries to snatch the Michael Savage Show away from them."

"However, Michael Savage's suit against his radio network also notes the matching proposal clause "has an indefinite term and is thus unenforceable."

It sounds as though he may have received a better offer from someone else and wants out of his current contract so that he can take it.

He may be correct in his legal position on a technical basis - but it hardly seems genuine in that he was willing to accept the benefits of that contract until now.

If the shoe were on the other foot - and his current employer were trying to get out of the contract on the same technical basis - would he agree that the contract is unenforceable?

I occassionaly have the opportunity to listen to Savage and he sometimes has some good insight, but can be a little wacky at times. Several times I've caught his show when Dwight Schultz has been filling in (AKA HM Howling Mad Murdock from A-Team fame), and have enjoyed Schultz's political commentary.

Savage is possibly the nastiest two faced person on the airwaves. He makes fun of people's names and accents but HE scrapped his "Jewish" name for the sake of money.

    Hi Bill,

There is one refreshing thing (at least to me) about Michael is that one has no doubt as to where he stands on a given issue.

I used to listen to him on the I-5 drive home from work before my retirement for the entertainment value
of his occassional tirade often wondering about his sky-rocketing blood pressure and the health risk thereof.
