The Gold Standard was useful when our economy was mostly internal to the U.S. and we had less than 100 million people. But there comes a time where the economy and population outgrows a rigid exchange rate tied to gold. Eventually the value of gold would need to be adjusted with more and more frequency. At that point you don't have a standard, you have a flexible currency.

The supply of gold is ever decreasing; our economy and population is ever increasing.

Also, our economy would be tied to the mining of gold in other countries and subject to hoarding by other countries. Whomever had the most gold as a natural resource could control our economy.

Back when God was interested in gold, he ignored diamonds. Why? Because no one knew how to cut diamonds and Moses couldn't 'splain how to God chosen workers?

I was preaching through the Book of Genesis some time ago and discovered a scripture passage that fascinated me

Genesis 2:11-12 says. "The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havlah, where there is gold; And the gold of that land is good; . . . "

Get the picture---at this point in time Adam and Eve were still in the Garden

But yet the Bible says there was gold just beyond where they were

Here's my point----although there was gold "just beyond" the Garden---I see nowhere where Adam and Eve were interested in becoming "'49er's"!!!!!

Same way in Heaven----Gold will be the streets there in the "beyond the Blue"----I believe---in both cases--as in the Garden and on the Streets of Glory---although gold was there(outside the garden's gate so to speak) and is there(inside Heaven's gate)-----it was and will be an object of obscurity:type::type:

Except when it came time to make the breast plate for the high priest with the 12 gemstones representing the 12 tribes.

Exodus 28:18 And the second row shall be an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond.

What's the point of your response anyway Bill?
