Another Harold Camping vent

    OK - So I was listening to Family Radio last night (I do this periodically because a friend of mine is a follower of his) and a man asked him what makes him different from all of the other people through history who tried to predict when Jesus was going to return - and all were obviously wrong. His response had two reasons:

    Before 1988, no one would be able to know because God kept it secret but after 1988, we can now find the truth in the Scriptures.

    The second reason, which made me scream was that no other person in history believed that the Bible in it's original writings were breathed out by God and His very word. NO ONE!! He's the ONLY one. He was totally serious.

    I've never been so mad in all my life. I SCREAMED "LIAR!!!!!" and I really think if he were in the road in front of me, I would have made his rapture a little earlier than May 21st. The people that are being deceived by this demon is unbelievable. He's a HERETIC for heaven's sake!!!!!!

    Thankfully we don't have him down here. However, I saw his supporters with their signs earlier this year. I was in NYC on business and they were out there marching like fruitcakes at the Veteran's Day parade (not in the parade thankfully). Really sad that this is what many people think of (or worse, the idiots at Westboro) when they think of Christians. What's going to happen when the day comes and goes???

    He is a weird one for sure.

    Might be the ultimate false prophet. He has predicted the day of the Lords return about 5 TIMES now, and been wrong every time...yet he just keeps doing it again and again.

    Unbelievable

    The others..Edgar Wuiznot???...just slither back into obscurity, but not O'le Harold. No sir. As long as the books keep selling...

    And I think he figured out how to cover his rear - at least for a few months. If you are still here after May 21st, that means you were not saved in the first place.

    You know what's sad? Someone called into his show and said something about killing himself, his wife and children because he was afraid that they would not be raptured and have to face the terrible judgment after that happens. I don't know what his response was because I heard this from a friend of mine and she heard the next caller reference it as "the previous caller". Oh .... my.... gosh!!! SUICIDE??? MURDER?????

    I can't verify this, but I heard he made over 15 million on his last book. Can anyone verify this?

    Seriously, we've got a bunch of people praying that he would lose his voice and the radio station would shut down. ;)

    So if you saw my other post, there's a young girl questioning the existence of God on another board I go to. She's going to a Christian college and I asked here if anyone knew anyone who went to that college. Thanks to Google Alert, the Vice President of Enrollment Management got a hold of me and hopefully we'll get this girl connected with some solid Christian girls on campus who can disciple her - and apparently lead her to the Lord.

    So I just got a PM from her. Seems another girl on the board gave her a warning and told her to watch out for me. She ranted on about predestination and the poor girl didn't understand it. This other girl who's ranting? A Camping-ite. She's bought the load of cow doody hook, line and sinker and is now trying to stop this girl from finding the truth. I'm THIS close to sending the other girl a PM with a massive rebuke in it but I won't because it won't be pretty. ARG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God, please take this guy out!!!!!!! **screaming at home**

    I can't understand why people would follow somebody to Guyana and then drink cyanide-laced beverages.
    In the Philippines they have a cult led by somebody whose adherents are college graduates often with Master's Degrees or Ph D's, and whose leader is simply an elementary school graduate.
    I think people like being fooled.
    Makes them feel smart. lol.

    I heard him on the radio not too long ago, first time I had ever listened to him. I knew nothing about him, just happened to come across him while scanning for stations.

    Hadnt been listening for 5 minutes when he said something to the effect of "Everyone in a New Testament Church is going to hell".

    I turned the station right then. That told me all I needed to know about Mr Camping.

    Family radio huh? ppffttttt

    I give them credit for the music, though.
    They DO play the old hymns, a lot.
    In the evenings, between 6 and 8, they have this Music to live by or something like that.
    What I really don't like about Family Radio is Harold Camping.
    But, then, he's the owner and president.

    Yes, he's come to the conclusion that we are no longer in the "church age" and that God has left the churches so now churches are all apostate and anyone who is still in a church cannot be saved and are destined to hell. You must come out of the church in order to be saved. He also explains away many things in the NT saying that it was for the "church age" and we no longer are in that age so those things don't apply to us.
