Is Political Correctness actually Cultural Marxism

I do not engage in PC.

It's time we drew a bead on the philosophy antithetical to liberty.

(This is not a gun sight. It's a bomb sight—and it's used metaphorically. I do not in any way advocate violence against burros.)

 

We all participate in politically correct speech. Just the way it is. We no longer use terms like "darkie" (or worse, the "N" word) to refer to persons of color, nor do we call mentally or physically handicapped persons "retards" or "cripples." And that is a good thing. Our words reflect the respect we have for people and people groups. Some here on the board use words to dis-respect others, "cals" comes to mind, and there are other terms bandied about here that are intentional in their use, designed to incite an emotional reaction.

But the true nature of politically correct speech is not the re-naming of certain people or groups (or places, things, actions, etc.) but rather when those titles are intentionally obfuscated for propagandizing reasons, i.e., terms used commonly in one form are intentionally re-defined in double-speak or other nefarious fallacies that cause people to buy into something based on common jargon while being led to an entirely different concept by those intentionally using politically correct terminology. This is most clearly seen in some of the current government dealings with the public. Terms like "the people" are carefully defined to mean one thing in a Congressional committee office and another thing to the populace at large.

 

I try to be pc as not to offend anyone I'm around.

 

I am offended by your pc-challenged approach.
