The Kimyal Tribe Receives the NT

    The Kimyal tribe of Papua, Indonesia, waited for the airplane as the pastor said to clap, sing and dance when it landed. After the plane landed with the very first NT in the Kimyal language, they rejoiced, prayed, wept, danced for joy and sang without being told to.

    Then there are interviews with the missionary translator, the national translator, words from Kimyal pastors and others.

    Folks, you who have three or four English Bibles that you consult all the time, and rows of reference books, I hope this helps you to rejoice in the Word of God instead of just study it. I know it encouraged me. And I hope you are moved to pray for the missionaries trying to reach these tribal peoples around the world, and translate the Word of God into their languages. This, to me, is what it is all about.

    Thank you for sharing this good news. I am pretty ignorant when it comes to Papua, Indonesia. However, I began reading online after watching the video. Have you even been to Papua?

    I've had friends there as missionaries, but never been there myself. I'd love to go trekking up to preach to the tribes, but alas I probably can't anymore--I was diagnosed with fallen arches just yesterday.

    In 2009 I did get to preach in a Muslim country. I can't say which it was on the Internet, but it is one of the poorest countries in the world. God is doing a fantastic work there through a Japanese medical missionary especially among the Hindus (about 8% of the population, I believe). I attended a baptism where 46 were baptized, including several Muslims.

    Thank you very much JoJ. That is indeed a very moving video. We take the Word of God for granted at times.

    I have a young Korean woman friend. She just returned from New Guinea 40 days ago. She was on a Korean government mission to give them technological farming help --supplies etc. She was touched by the people she encountered.

    I just emailed the link you provided. I hope she is affected the way I was.

    I gave her a daily reading Bible for Christmas. She already had an NIV Explanation Bible. I told her it is necessary to read and meditate on the Word of God every day --Korean or English. She's fully fluent in English. She fell behind two weeks ago and I encouraged her not to give up. She said she's been really busy. I said :"You want to tell the Lord that you are too busy to read His Word?! You need to treasure what many people around the world don't have -- a Bible in their own language."

    I had the above conversation with her earlier today.It's vacation time on the peninsula. So watching that video clip provides a very apt lesson for her.

    Great, brother, glad it was a blessing! :wavey: And I'm sure the Korean lady will be blessed too, and hopefully encouraged to get into the Word.
