I was listening to Stephanie Miller talk show today.

A lady called in and said she knows a teacher who is divorced but is not allowed to have his child on his health insurance because he is not able to claim the son on his tax return. - due to NJ law.

First, I don't believe that is the law - but can someone from NJ give the 4-1-1 on this.

And even if the law is valid, the story still sounds a bit shaky. I have a theory, would like to hear from a couple other folks first - then I will post my thoughts.

New Jersery is conducting a dependent eligibility audit of its state employees, and the audit form asks for a tax return listing one's children. That is what may be causing the confusion.

Jerome, thanks for the info. I found a link & listed it above.

Thats interesting, a caller tells Stephanie a "fact". and Miller believes it at face value.

Now if the same individual had called Glenn Beck, he would have had Stu check it out on the computer asap. That my friend is one difference between Beck and Miller.

and on the other hand - if a conservative calls in with a fact, Miller will dismiss it without further comment.

Thats how you stamp out liberalism - use facts, and be careful not to accept any old web info page to put you into an uproar.

Several times I get emails with "facts" when I check out valid source I find the email be be partially, or even fully wrong.
Be sure you know the full truth.

We are now in full steam ahead for this election cycle. Please do not forward any incorrect "facts"
