Uuuuuu anyone looking to a president for moral leadership is a bit daffy if not totally insincere especially in recent days of our country!

Rather double standardish wasn't the questioner?

This is Newt Gingrich's baggage. He's very smart and gives great speeches but he's unelectable. His role should be as a campaigner for another candidate.

Not really. If a candidate is going to run on family values it's absolutely a fair question to ask.

Gingrich has been married three times. He left his first wife, his former high school geometry teacher in 1980 while having an affair. He divorced his first wife and married Marianne Ginther. In the mid-1990's, while still married to Marianne, he had an affair with a staff aide Callista Bisek, who is 23 years younger than Gingrich. Just after divorcing Marianne, Gingrich married Bisek. (Sense a pattern here?)

Oh, one more thing--Gingrich, a life long Baptist converted to Catholicism, his younger wife's religion, in March 2009.

Kinda did from the article. Not sure more detail added much.

I don’t believe Newt is electable. He has a good conservative position on many issues, but also a history of compromise and moral failures. But that is not what you asked.

I fail to see how the student’s link between Newt’s opposition to gay rights and his three marriages have anything in common. The question makes no sense as I see no “hypocritical interpretation” of religious values. But again, that was not what you asked.

What you did ask was if his answer satisfied me, and yes it does.
Given Gingrich’s history and the atmosphere in which the question was asked I can’t imagine a better answer.
