Where were you when the OJ Simpson verdict was read?

I was standing in the church office watching it being read on TV.

    I have no idea.

Neither the trial nor the verdict held any interest for me.

My best friend and I watched together at her house. We were both surprised at the verdict.

I was working as a volunteer in Xi'an, China from April until later October and heard about the decision on the CCTV English language news case that night. By being in China I missed that entire trail circus. The trail was a non-issue in China. I do not remember any mention of the trail prior to the verdict.

I was eating lunch at a Taco John's in Paducah, Kentucky, and the TV was on.

Seeing Arbo's response reminded me of the old answer to the question, which do you think is worse, ignorance or apathy?

Don't know. It doesn't stick out as much more than a media circus in which I quickly lost interest.

I am pretty sure I was somewhere in Ireland

I recall this case, apparently it was really big in the USA, but at the time I recall thinking who the .... is OJ Simpson? Why is a man called Orange Juice???

Is this criticism? If it is, please explain why it is warranted. I was neither ignorant of the trial, for news of it could not be avoided; nor was I apathetic, though I did choose not to be engrossed in the circus.

He wasn't criticizing you. Your answer is identical to the old joke about a guy being asked the question "Which is worse? Ignorance or apathy?" To which he answered "I don't know, and I don't care", thus demonstrating both qualities with his short answer. That is all.

I figured as much, but if I was mistaken I'd want to know.

    ...not that I really care.
