Over the past few months I've realized I'm surrounded by lots of different religions. There's the majority who are Baptist, then other protestants such as Methodist, Lutherans, Episcopalians, Presbyterian, a couple of Jewish and Jehovahs Witnesses, then a few Catholics, as I've mentioned in an earlier thread.

Which of these are in the most danger of being unsaved? I get confused on the differences sometimes.

We know that the visible church made up of professing Christians is made up of both wheat and tares. So, assuming we are part of the wheat, we should continue to cultivate, plant and water both outside of the church, but also inside.

But setting that aside, how do we help one another, when we believe our view is God's truth and the other guy's view is mistaken. I have tried pointing out what I believed was compelling evidence of their error, and got back the same thing, I was the one who needed more study because I did not understand what I was talking about.

Are we in the last days where our love for one another grows cold? I believe the fire burns within me and I expect with most other professing Christians, so we should continue to stand firm and boldly speak the truth in love.

Effective prayers do not ask God to do our will, they ask God to help us understand and do God's will.

The definition of "religion" (as it applied to those who believed in God) used to be the following of a set of laws, rules, regulations and teaching's as mandated by the individual institution.

Over the years this definition has been watered down, enlarged and includes many other options. Why, even one who owns a mint condition 1957 Chevrolet Belair convertible can be "religious" over the vehicle.

The definition of "Christianity" used to be those who followed the teachings of Christ.

Even this definition has been enlarged to encompasses a wide range of options. For years people belonged to the "The Catholic Religion" but now they claim to be Christian. Religious Christians? Impossible.

And then comes the difference of doctrine. The stuff wars have been fought over. Then, toss in someone on a book selling drive who claims to have an inside handle on what our Lord is really up to and he's the only one worthy to enlighten the world.

    Satan sifts us like wheat.

We all need to be prayed for and pitied like the wandering sheep we are. We were instructed to "go tell the world beginning at (HOME) Jerusalem first. We don't even have peace on the home front.

Pick up a copy of the book, Kingdom of the Cults. It will clarify a few things for you concerning some of the folks surrounding you.

I would have to say the Adventist. Although they claim to have an identical view of the Trinity, that all True believers, weather they be Catholic, Baptist, Lutheran, etc. hold to. They are in fact Arians in their belief. There is a clear and present danger to a persons soul in this particular group. Peace :tear:

Anyone who has not placed their faith for the salvation of their soul in the shed blood of Jesus Christ is lost, no matter what group they are a part of. There are even many "baptists" who are lost. They all need prayer.

As far as the groups you listed, they all follow false doctrines and until they believe the one and only gospel, they will remain lost.

There is salvation in no other name than Jesus Christ, by grace through faith, not of works.

Out of the list you gave, the Jehovah's Witnesses have another gospel completely and I do not believe you can be saved and continue in that church and under their teaching, it would be hard to find the true Gospel. They definitely need prayers.

The Jews need Jesus Christ. They have an incomplete gospel.

In the other examples you gave, the Bible is there, the heart of the Gospel is there but often times it is hidden from the congregation in not great teaching. Some of these denominations have churches with pastors who are evangelical and solid and as such, they can be good but other times, they too preach another gospel.

But you can even add Baptist to the group. Not everyone in a Baptist church is saved and there are actually Baptist churches out there that are unfortunately changing the Gospel to tickle ears. I don't believe you can name one denomination or church group that has 100% solid teaching in every one of their individual churches. We're sinners. We can't count on us. ;)

We should pray for those who claim to be a Baptist - but have never been born again

Those, no matter the name over the door, who THINK that they are God's children and are merely "religious."
