Plain and simple . . . the current POTUS ran on the promise of closing Guantánamo Bay and conducting trials in civilian courts.

Three years later, two after his becoming POTUS, Gitmo is still open for business, and yesterday, Attorney General Holder told us that detainees would be tried by a military tribunal!

Those are not just "flip-flops" they will go down in the annals of US History as the "Whoppers" of all time!

Can anyone else think of a campaign promise that this POTUS has conceded since being seated? REMEMBER, we have a 10 page limit, so try to keep your posts, short and sweet and to the point..

All of this should be done in a sense of good humor and in a loving way, keeping in mind the fact that all POTUS make promises they find they can't keep! :tonofbricks:

    Thanks for you input!

    Pastor Paul :type:

Yes, it's amazing when naive liberal intentions meet up with knowledgeable reality!

Oh my....off the top of my head:

    1. Repeal the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy.
    2. Go through the budget line by line and eliminate programs that don't work.
    3. Ban all earmarks.
    4. Allow public five days to review any legislation. Health care negotiations will be on CSPAN.
    5. Withdraw from Iraq within 16 months.
    6. Allow importation of less expensive prescription drugs.
    7. Undertake another manned moon mission with the goal of reaching Mars.
    8. Won't have lobbyists working in the White House.

I'm very angry with the Obama administration over this. The Justice Department should have got an indictment from a federal grand jury and moved KSM prior to a public announcement.

This couldn't possibly be a worse idea.

This guy is an enemy combatant, engaged in acts of war against the US.

He does not get Constitutional rights, and does not deserve a civilian trial.

Your route puts us a helf-dozen crackpots away from a new round of terror against the US--7 bought-off jurors, and we've got 9/11, version 2.0.

Not to mention, it's not in any way supported legally.

The last thing the U.S. needs is a public trial of these terrorists. Worst idea ever.

Pretty good list from off the top of your head.

What was real fun was listening to him try to explain them away, like the earmarks being on Bush's plan, not his. So they didn't count. That's the reason he ok'd them.

I don't know if he even tried with the rest. He lies with impugnity. When caught, he just doesn't care, and most likely lies again...with impugnity.

And you criticized him for that. You also criticize him when he reverses to your position. Is there any thing he could have done that you would have been happy with?

    Thanks for asking!

He could resign, along with Biden! That would be admirable on behalf of both men!

OOohh, can I take this one?

So far, the only thing I've agreed with Obama is increasing the troop strength in Afghanistan (which by the way is yet another broken promise of his) and passing the consumer credit card reform bill.

The cash for clunkers program wasn't a bad idea but it was administered wrongly.

Which administration are we talking about? The real administration of global bankers and corporitos in London and NYC or the phoney one made up for public consumption in DC?
