ESV Ryrie Study Bible

    Ryrie now has the study bible in the ESV version which is my favorite translation. I don't know anything about Ryrie however. Could you save me some time and give me your opinion on Ryrie.

    That was my first study Bible, in the 1977 NASV version...

    Still have one, in Moroccon leather, and it has last about 25 years ...

    Ryrie is a very good study Bible IF you hold to the tenants of Dispensalism and pre milliniualism... His notes are concise, not as many as say the NIV study Bible, but the notes that he has seem to be "higher quality"...

    Would say that this study bible would be equivalent of a Modern Scofield for baptists, but not nearly as Dispy, more like a moderate approach to it..

    To follow... Ryrie's study Bible is not only about dispensationalism. He has some good notes throughout. I used one for a while. I'd recommend it even though I'm not really a dispensationalist anymore.

    Agree with you, he has very good study notes, many of them do not relate to dispy...
    excellent summary of doctrines a synopsis...

    Would rate it very high for a Baptist study bible!
