My daughter's surgery is Wednesday, 4/27!! Woo-hoo!

    Praise God!! What an ordeal this has been but God has gone before us and orchestrated it all. She's now in the hospital after having had a gall bladder attack that got her in the ER and she will be having surgery tomorrow. I can't wait to get to the other side of this ordeal.

    Specific prayer requests now are that she can sleep well tonight and that she and the surgeons will be touched by God tomorrow. Also pray that she will recover really well even though this will be a pretty big surgery (removing the almost softball sized mass from her pancreas, also removing her gall bladder and her spleen). She's got some great physicians in charge of her and she is also a daughter of the Great Physician so she's in great hands.

    She went in right at about 7:30. Now we're in the waiting room. I'll post when I get news.

    She's out of surgery. The surgeon said she did great and lost very little blood!! We should be able to go see her in about 45 minutes.

    I'm home for the night because there's not much I can do for her tonight. I do plan to stay with her tomorrow night if she has the catheter out (if she has to get up for the bathroom) but for tonight, I decided I needed some sleep

    She's in a lot of pain. She has a morphine drip and she also had morphine in her spine but it still isn't helping completely. It was a big surgery and it's going to take time for the pain to ease up. Please pray that the pain decreases quickly.

    Just read the news that your daughter had a successful surgery and we praise the Lord for answered prayer! I will join all of your praying partners that your daughter will get relief from the intense pain, and a speedy recovery!
    Praying for her mother to get some needed rest too!

    annsni, good for you for recognizing you need to keep yourself running.

    I don't know if it's an option for her, but around a week ago, something called fentanyl through my iv helped me immensely when morphine wasn't working. Might be worth asking about.
