Who WAS The Antichrist Than?

lol. I have enjoyed your questions lately, though I don't have much of an input to offer.

 

Wesley, along with the Westminster Divines believed the AntiChrist was the Pope, deceiving Christians with Catholic Dogma, but that this dogma was and is defeated whenever a Christian believes the true Gospel.

I am not saying I agree, just stating what history shows.

 

This is correct as to Wesley, but I never quite grasped what he meant. Was he referring to the pope extant at Wesley's time or did he mean all popes, i.e., the pontifical office?

 

What scripture teaches a coming Antichrist?

 

Let's ask this then, who were the False Prophet and the Beast and what signs and wonders did they do? When did the one on the horse cast them both alive into the Lake of Fire? When did the one on the horse slay men with the sword out of his mouth? When was satan bound for 1000 years, is he loosed now for a little season? When has Christ reigned on earth with other Kings (rulers) for 1000 years?

When was all this fulfilled and who were the beast and the false prophet?

Revelation 19:19

And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

20And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

21And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

Revelation 20:1And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

2And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

One more question when the bible speaks specifically of a false prophet would he be considered an anti-christ or false christ?

The beast that is prophesied to rule the world would he be consider an anti-christ or against Christ and all that He did?

 

The bible tells that antichrists are apostate Christians

and those who deny Christ's deity, etc.

The Antichrists are only mentioned in 1st and 2nd John. There is never one, single "The Antichrist" nor is the term ever applied to a world leader.

If people read what the bible says about the antichrists instead of so called prophecy teachers it would clear up a lot of misunderstanding.
