Just asking if it would be OK from Biblical perspective to rejoice the fact of him being killed off now...

Seeing how the official spokesperson for the vaticon, as well as other "Christian" leaders, have said that we should not be happy in the fact that a person had died.. basically, since all Gods creation, should treat death of 9-11 victims same as Bin laden death...

How does God view this topic do you think?

While we can be satisfied that an evil man has received his end and can, directly, do no more evil it is a bittersweet moment.

Hopefully this provides closure and brings peace to the families of the thousands he murdered directly or was complicit in their murder.

That said I don't see any point in the NT where we are to rejoice when violence is used to satisfy judgment in this life. We, as Christians, should always advocate for life.

There is a tension we must live in, but that is the tension of being citizens of two Kingdoms. :)

While I'm not 100% sure how God thinks about this, Ezekiel 33:11 does read as follows: "Say unto them, As I live saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live...."

Whether that verse would directly apply to OBL I don't know, but at least it's something to consider.

Though one part of me rejoices, or rather, relaxes, knowing that an evil man has been buried at sea, the other part mourns in realizing that he has went to eternal torment...or at least I believe he has. It is sad that someone could be so evil, but God renders judgement according to our deeds.....his judgement is just in the sight of God, and I bow to His supremeness!!

    i am I AM's!!

We can praise God and give Him thanks when any man committed to the murderous shedding of innocent blood goes on to judgement.

Psalm 11:5 The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

We can be thankful for any threat or danger that has been removed.

We cannot be happy that a life was lost without Christ.

No, but we can honor those who under the cover of governmental authority protected the innocent from those who would do them harm. Acting as individual Christians, we are to pray for our enemies and do good to those who perscute us. But on the other hand, God ordains governments to protect and God honors those who do the protecting, see the last 5 names in Hebrews 11.

    God Bless

Perhaps this sounds callous but I am much more inclined to wonder how many of the 3000 people who died in 911 were unsaved & are in hell today due to the savagery of OBL then I concern myself one iota about his own cursed soul.

just wondering if we we wrong in WW II to celebrate death of Hitler? In Stalin and Mao?

or do we level the field, and not take into account behaviors of those who have died?

OK let's continue with the callousness, what about Nagasaki and Hiroshima where aproximately 200,000 people were incinerated in 1945, of which many, maybe most were women, children and the elderly and undoubtedly the majority unsaved.

Was that savagery on the part of Harry Truman?

The perception of savagery all depends upon which end of the sword you are on, the giving or the receiving.

Actually, blame falls on shoulders of Emperor Japanese leadership...
Could have stopped the war from their side, we did warn them something really "bad" would happen if kept fighting...

And IF we would have not dropped Bombs, war would have extended, we would have to invade mainline, all project up to a Million killed on both sides...

Was that savagery on the part of Harry Truman?

No, it was the means used to end a war, using a weapon that Japan "forced" us to use, as refused to stop war on their own, and stopping it by convential means would have meant MANY more deaths...

The perception of savagery all depends upon which end of the sword you are on, the giving or the receiving.

Also depends on IF this is a just cause, "good war" don't think Bin Laden is fighting in such, as he was trying to have war for cause of Allah, not fighting against a known evil...

I don't think anyone celebrated the death of Hitler or the bombing of Japan, but rather they celebrated the ending of a war that cost far to many lives all the way around.

Here, I celebrate that Bin Laden has been removed, but certainly fear for his soul. Its possible to separate the two feelings/ideas. I doubt however this is the end of terrorism or al Queda.

You are correct from your point of view JF (and mine as well).

This is why I enboldened the phrase perception of savagery.

Osama and Hirohito both thought that they were doing the divine will of their god(s).

Harry Truman did what was right in his eyes and for that reason you and I are here today.

I think God hates bin laden. The evidence of that is that he died as a muslim. So he is in hell for eternity because he rejected Jesus Christ.

All christians will rejoice at God's righteous judgements in the end.

However, as for us and bin laden it's fine to rejoice. He was an evil wicked reprobate heathen we were at war with and it's wonderful that he's dead.
