    1. someone not looking like it as of now.
    2. None have a chance and the party hasn't figured out what/who it is and where they should stand. Guess they could run on the democratic platform since at this point they seem close :)
    3. To scarrrrrrreeeeeeeyyyyyyyyy to consider.

Any one know much about Herman Cain? I was pretty impressed with him at the first debate and hearing his speech at CPAC. I know he is a Baptist, a true Conservative and a very good communicator. Beyond that, I don't know much about him.

    I don't, honestly care.

I don't vote Republican as a default condition.

Oh they're gonna screw this one all the way up. They've got a golden chance to bring a tremendous candidate that would do a lot of good but they're gonna mess it up. Right now...its just way too early to tell what is gonna happen. Too many people aren't declared yet.

I think the nominee will be Romney or Gingrich.

I will not vote for either one.

I think she'd be a good choice. Very savvy. Very intelligent.

She'd mop the floor with BO in a debate.

Folks, I'm of the opinion that this is our last chance to "get it right" - IE: get control of this gov't back by conservatives!!!

Unfortunately I'm also afraid that the majority of the R hierarchy will see to it that the current D-LITE attitude will prevail, and any glaring CONSERVATIVE will never be able to make the grade.

I'm just pessimistic (optimistic??) enough to feel that this is all in His will to downplay the USA influence globally so the anti-christ can move in with little to no opposition.

    IOW -- MARANATHA!!!!

    What he said.

My second pick would be Tim Pawlenty if he got an injection of charisma.

Romney will have a tough time explaining why he supported Romney-Care but wants to repeal Obama-Care.

Although I like Christie, do you really think he can beat Obama in the Age of TV? We haven't had an obese Pres. since, what, Taft? Seriously, it's something to consider, since so many people vote based on "feeling." The contrast between the slim and trim Obama to Christie will be huge...pun intended.

I honestly don't see anyone beating Obama, unless the ecomony tanks sometime around August 2012. If it stays somewhat soft between now and then, but stable, BO wins in a landslide. However, if we continue to have $4.00 gas for several months, it will no doubt hamper the economy and possibly tank it. If it does, then all bets are off.

I don't know? People may be able to relate to him better. He is more like the average guy which is also very appealing. This is why Clinton's number's actually rose after the Lewinsky scandal, he became more relatable to many.

I agree, it could hurt, but the fact he won there in that liberal area proves that it wasn't too much of a deterrent and could have actually been part of his appeal. I mean look at the success of people like Oprah. People want those they can relate to, especially if they are running on a non-conformistis anti-political establishment type platform. Just my thoughts on that point...

However, your point about the economy is also right. The phrase, "Its the economy stupid" still certainly applies and will make or break Obama in the next election. I don't see how it could be better at the rate we are going, but honestly I don't see how its not going to get much worse before it gets better regardless of who is in control.

Skan, good point about Christie winning in liberal NJ. But the presidential election draws so many more people - and many vote on things like how a guy looks (even race is a factor ). But you are right - it could prove to be counterintuitive and Christie could win as the the everyman. Too many factors to consider this early in the game.
