"Racial overtones"? I didn't hear any. I don't the big deal about the song.

That's what happens when one works for a scab outfit in a scab state. Well, he saved paying union dues for how many years?

Not the first time someone has been fired for a song like that. Nor will it be the last time. Look at it that way. If it did have racial overtunes however, it would cause so much controversy that the whole entire nation would be talking about it. Now wouldn't they?

Right - because if he worked for a union he would have done nothing more than the minimum that the contract called for and that means he never would have bothered to write the song in the first place so he couldn't have been fired over it.

Yeah, Peter Paul & Mary's classic "If I Had a Hammer" earned just two Grammys, that's all. It really pales in comparison to the OP ditty "When You're Holding a Hammer Everything Looks Like a Nail". Now that's a hammer song with a powerful message.

Yammering yokel? The thread is not about his singing ability. The thread is about whether or not he should have been fired.

Don't you mean he would be rich from writing songs on company time so getting fired didn't matter?
