But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
    Matthew 24:36 (AV 1873)

Sure thought 'nor the Son' was in there somewhere!

"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." = KJV1769 oxford revision

Sadly, the AV deleted the phrase and shows its attack on the deity of Christ. Obviously cannot be trusted. [insert irony icon for the AV worshipers]

I wonder . . do the more modern non-anglican translations include it? Hmmm.

"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." - NIV

"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone." - NASB

"But about that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." - NRSV

This might be a bit off topic - but if the Father and Son are one (John 10:30)- then how can the Father know something that the Son does not?

Was that only talking about the Son as man while on earth
What about now that Christ is in Heaven?

As the Son gave up, by choice, the exercise of his divine attributes such as his omnipotence when going to the cross (he could have called 12 legions of angels to defend him), so he limited himself at times his omniscience (the time of his coming). It didn't make him any less divine.
He always submitted himself to the will of the Father.

I understand and accept that, but now that he is ressurected with a glorified body and in Heaven- is he still limited in knowledge? If He is not equal the Father in all things - then is Jesus truly God?

    May be metaphorical.

Jewish wedding involved the arrangement, "purchase", etc then the groom going back to add on a room in his father's house for the new couple.

Bride KNEW he would come get her but not sure when, so kept herself clean and lamps trimmed. Groom worked and waited until Dad said "OK, time to go get your bride".

Then groom would go, heralded by trumpets and host of friends to get the bride and take her to her new home and feast for seven days. The first night they would consumate the union (in that new "room" prepared) while all the guests at the feast continued to party.

So when Jesus said He would return for His bride but the exact time would be at the command of the Father, He was speaking prophetically (Jesus was a dispensationalist, you know) and couching terms in such language that all could understand then.

The reason that the KJV does not have 'Nor the Son' in Matt 24:36 is that 90+% of the extant Greek manuscripts do not have it either.
