He (RW) reminds me of Paul in "becoming all things to all people". :)

His interview reminded me of Larry King's where he avoids direct answers.

The thing I find most notable is the absence of the actual video. For a Christ following and extreme disliker of Purpose Driven Churches it makes for an easy shot... one Iḿ not taking here.

The video is on the link. I'm not sure what you are missing.

Thinking that over it might just be a format issue then. I just upgraded to Ubuntu 64 bit and installed the beta version of Flash to watch YouTube Video so perhaps this is not in the SWF format.

So, still not trusting Rick because of the things he has said, I apologise.

I've heard John Piper mentioned often. Can someone give me a little background on him?

Why sure! ;) What stands out about Piper for me… In a nut shell, he is an educated man, a debater which uses all the means available to him to engage in some of best scriptural gymnastics to support his Determinist doctrines that I have ever come across. These antics are generally highly appreciated by the Calvinist crowd, so much so that a couple years ago I was banned from another predominately Calvinist site for calling out his fallacies and criticizing his methods of interpretation as if I had blasphemed something holy.

Spoken like a truly soft indeterminate individual.

John Piper is the preaching pastor at Bethlehem Baptist Church and is a great preacher, teacher and man of God. I like his messages very much and he's not afraid to say the tough thing.

    Piper and Warren

I have been a Piper fan for years and his methods of dealing with subject matter can be obsessive. For the interview he had a stack of paper basically all of it probably issues he had with the Purpose driven book. Warren seemed sloppy but well spoken and very calm. Warren seems like the guy you could trust with anything, including your worst sins. During the interview Warren admits to holding Calvinistic views but does not want to be labeled one under the Calvinism label. I used to consider myself reformed but I don't prescribe to this label any longer because of all negativity coming from reformed thinkers such as John MacArthur and others. As Christians we are not going to agree on every issue but we should all agree on the major issues of need of salvation, atonement, and sanctification.

Here are the thoughts of Tim Challies on the interview.
I find myself agreeing with them very much. Warren carries being all things to all men to the 9th degree. He reminds me of Groucho Marx: 'Those are my principles, sir, and if you don't like them......I have others.'
