his past week the "progressive" left laid claim to the women's vote of 2012.

They intend to compete for the hearts and minds of women.

They intend to win the votes of women, and they will lie, confuse, and mislead if necessary to do so.

In short the left believe that the women's vote in America is something they can manipulate devoid of fact.

More pathetically they believe women in droves will cascade with them over the cliff into the insanity the left offers--all the while attempting to convince them they are truly on their side.

To the left, women are just another group, like ethnicities, and sexual identities, that they believe they can victimize--then rescue, all in the matter of the twenty-second soundbite.

Because votes count, and they need to buy as many as they can...

We can only hope that America wakes up and realizes that they CAN vote to make our nation what it is that they miss, wish for, see as successful, etc. We already have term limits, it is called the ballot box. If we are tired of liberals there is a simple solution. Make it unprofitable to be a liberal. We could change the culture of America within a decade if we just figured out that one simple fact.

I'd suggest that liberals treat women as stupid because they can get away with it. I don't mean that in a bad sense, but they've been quite successful, which tends to prove their point, I guess. Are women really stupid? Absolutely not! But can they be manipulated by professional public relations experts who run campaigns? Yup, just like males, people of color, minorities, etc., etc., etc. (in other words almost all people).

They even thought women were so stupid they would vote for Sarah Palin just because she was a hockey mom. How's that workin' for ya?

It's all based on this silly notion that we, as women, bloc vote - that we have a herd mentality. Honestly, I don't give a hoot nor holler how any other woman votes when I go into the voting booth. All I take in that booth with me is my conscience as directed by the Holy Spirit.

Garnering the "votes of women" as a bloc is like trying to scoop up fish out of a barrel with a net made of Jello.

Women vote as variedly as Christians do.

And you see Roger's smug agreement, like Palin & McCain somehow would be doing worse than team zero.

    Thanx, rog.

Not my point at all. Adding Gov Palin to the ticket was a foolish move aimed at some supposed 'women's bloc' ignoring the fact that women think.

I see it the other way around... McCain actually (almost) made it a race after adding Palin. Before that, most of conservative America was going to stay home on election day.

Note that I still do not want Palin to run for president, nor did I want her to run last cycle, but she is out there and actually making a lot more noise to raise the base than a lot of the pundits would allow (or like). If she stays in that capacity it will be a plus for the Republican ticket. If she runs, she'll likely be on the ticket, but likely un-electable.

I agree with "g". IMHO Palin was picked more for the conservative bloc -but then again - it didn't hurt the womens vote either.

Scarlett, I appreciate your thinking on voting, but unfortunately that is not the thinking of many folks. Party line often tends to be the deciding factor, regardless of where the party candidate stands on the issues.

Because most women who do vote for liberals are "stupid" (or more politely put, "less informed.")

As I recall, you supported her until the negative press started.

I would further say it was the people ignoring Obama's radical past & associations who were not thinking. Sarah Palin is not the idiot everyone on the left, (and their fans) want her to be. She could tweak her foreign policy and gain even my support.

Nope. I supported her, in a somewhat 'let's see what happens' manner until she began to show her ignorance of world affairs. Still, I thought there might be hope, but since the election she has proven over and over that she would be a disaster as president.

She did appear to be an impressive choice, until we were forced to
    see through her image.

Then too, they had to be better than the alternative, though now I even doubt that.

I do not see how a McCain/Palin administration could possibly be worse than what we have. Say what you want, I have not caught a blatant, bold faced lie come out of her mouth. She displays more brains, guts, and class than Obama could ever muster.

I know of one Christian lady who voted for Hillary Clinton (for US Senate )- basically because she was female. Then was surprised to find out Hillary was pro-abortion , as was her opponet (and that was no secret)

It still amazes me to watch those on the street interviews where they ask people who voted for Obama about his views as if Obama was a conservative and they had no clue. They just voted for him because he was "cool."

I don't know anyone who thought that. Most people that like her does so because she, being a soccer mom, is down to earth and genuine. And she took on both the democrat and republican establishment in Alaska.

They voted for him because they thought he was going to give them free money.

The problem is that both sides see women as a bloc vote. It is disingenuous to say that only the liberals do that.
