If he didn't do it a no to the question Did you do it? might have helped his case in the interview I heard where he beat around every bush in the forest.

If it was a hack job then investigation should be going on.

He was also asked if he had contacted law enforcement. Listening to the interview (on another talk show) he consistently beat around the bush - never did answer either question.

Remember someone (son of a high ranking Democrat) got into Sara Palins computer - he was convicted and sentenced to prison.

Hacking a computer is a serious crime- and should be investigated immediately - especially for a lawmaker.

I'm not defending Weiner, I'm just trying to understand what is going on with this story. He says he was hacked and someone spoofed his Twitter account.

Why should an investigation be done? Does the law provide for automatic investigations or only if there is a complaint?

Exactly how much damage has been done?

I don't think hacking into computers is considered serious by law enforcement unless significant amounts of money or state secrets are involved. One need only consider how many computers get infected with viruses every day to know that our government is doing next to nothing to stop it.

Anyway...Which computer was hacked into? Weiner's work office computer or his personal computer? It would make a difference.

His computer was not hacked, the event happened to quickly for that, and he cannot deny that the picture was him. That, in and of itself, is more evidence than was used against the last couple of Republicans that got bouced for ethics issues. IIRC, all they had were some suggestive emails...
