No one is going to mistake Palin for a historical scholar anytime soon. That said, everyone misspeaks. When it's a pattern, then it's a pattern.

I heard a renowned Catholic scholar refer to Luther's reformation at Salsburg on Oct 21, 1517  He's still a renowned Catholic scholar. Everyone flubs from time to time.

    But again, if it's a pattern, it's a pattern.

Palin simply isn't that smart. The GOP needs a candidate who isn't a gaffe machine and who has the ability to address complex issues without embarrassing himself/herself. Palin isn't that candidate.

Obama is smarter than Palin. But his decisions in office haven't given him any discernible edge in improving this country. We shouldn't elect less intelligent folks to the highest office -- but ...just sayin'.

The other day a friend stated that he would like to go on a mission trip to Malta. I immediately said, "Isn't that in the Pacific?" Then I realized I was having a "duh" moment. I seemed to forget for a moment that Paul was bitten by a viper there after the ship he was on sunk. We all have our senior moments.

An interesting thing is that today there are no venomous snakes on the island of Malta. Some dim whits use that as an argument to diminish the validity of the story.

My point is that the GOP needs to nominate someone who can go toe-to-toe intellectually with Obama. If Sarah Palin is nominated, Obama will win.

Palin discredits herself; she doesn't need any help. She just needs to go away. She may single-handedly hand this country over to Obama for another four years, and that is something that the country definitely does not need.

I fully agree. Gingrich and Romney are smart but have their flaws. Either could make Obama look intellectually inferior. But it won't take the smartest kid in the class to win. If the GOP can nominate someone with a brain and a pulse, if the economy is as it stands today come Nov, Obama will be calling UHaul.

Just go away? I don't think so. She is good for the Republicans in the same way that Bill Clinton helps the Democrats. Doesn't mean I'd want either of them as president.

    Oh, remember these?

"There's a lot of -- I don't know what the term is in Austrian -- wheeling and dealing "

"Just this past week, we passed out of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee, which is my committee, a bill…"

"Let me be absolutely clear, Israel is a strong friend of Israel's"

I remember when Roger used to chide usd to stick with the issues on Obama, that gossip, and conjecture would only lead to his being elected.

Palin makes Obama look like an imbicile. This is a silly slam on her, and really think people would be better off discussing policy, and philosophy, instead of this kind of garbage.

Of course, when we did discuss Obama's policies, and his philosophy, tha same Roger let us be called racists.

    Almost like we can't win.

Exactly where did I slam Gov Palin? I simply posted a video and asked if it was genuine. This is hardly gossip when it is a video of her own words.

And remember, I resigned my position as moderator in the politics and news forums mid-campaign. I have no authority to moderate these threads except in exceptional, emergency situations.

Aw come on, look at the title.

And that's a fair statement on your moderatorship, but I have other issues with the seemingly one-sided manner of your admonishments.(If that's even a sentence) I wish you took a more even approach.

Yes, this, and other things you have said lead me to believe you think she is stupid. I wish someone would point to a policy, or a vote she cast, or something that amounts to more than "she's stupid"..."she's smarter than you".....

Oh, and one more thing....Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.

Maybe I am showing my own stupidity here - I googled Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and don't understand her relevance.

While I think 'stupid' may be too harsh a word for Gov Palin, I would agree that I think there must be someone more capable to run for president on the GOP ticket. She has done little to convince me that she has the ability to serve. The is not the first time she has appeared confused and befuddled by simple questions.

I'm glad none of us live with the scrutiny she is under. Imagine, with all the footage they must have, by now, they have her stumbling.

I'd still like someone to debate policy.

And D.W.-S. is actually writing law. I call her the female Joe Biden. Between the two of them, they don't have one head full of brains. If you are really interested in gaffes, uninformed, meandering, slanderous misstatements, and feel those disqualify one from holding office, you would be paying attention to actual, dangerous idiocy.

She sounds like the toy is missing from her Happy Meal, but finding someone less able than Gov Palin does not make Gov Palin any more appealing. I also agree that the Vice-President is not the sharpest kid on the block. That was one of the many reasons I could never have voted for that ticket.

That doesn't inspire confidence Mrs Palin just because she might be sharper than these two.

And I am sure you could articulate an absolutely devastating critique on both Biden, and D.W.-S. and never mention their lack of intelligence.
