Will Sen John Edwards beat the system?

He's got plenty of money, sleazy friends, and influence. What else would one expect? He's a slimy trial lawyer (in other words he's a snake)? He will probably not be convicted. But, his political career is over. Problem is that there are lot's of other slimy slick willies to take his place.

 

I was shocked when Jon Edwards was charged due to the fact he is a democrat.
However I think he will get off by paying a fine.

Actually I believe the "system" works in his favor.

He has money and powerful friends, and the "system" favors that combination.

 

I wouldn't give you two bits for his chances... in eternity, that is! And that is quite sad.

While i am not fan of Mr. Edwards based on what I have read and heard this is another attempt of the government to show itself as king and Pope while it stretches the law way beyond its intent. So I think it is improper to suggest that MR. Edwards might beat the system since the system is corrupt.
